Lentils are gradually reappearing on the shelves. I've got to have them. I use them nearly every day because they are calorie dense. They are four times as calorie dense as potatoes.
With a heap of remaining precious kidney beans still in my possession, I am growing them in my Quarantine Balcony Garden for fun. They grow fast and are super easy to take care of. I named my bean planter "Jack" & my scallion planter "Jill".

I LOVED all of these lentil recipes! I lived in Morocco, and we used to eat green lentil salad with cucumber, red onion, tomatoes chopped finely and mixed with the not-overcooked green lentils, mixed with lots of lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, coriander (leaf and ground powder), ginger, garlic, salt and harissa -- all eaten with whole wheat bread for utensils. I use red lentls a lot but have not made these recipes....YET. I will try these recipes for sure!!! THANK YOU!

Love your dhal! To step your roti game, you can use Indian flour (also called ‘atta’). You can get these at Indian provision stores and it’s the same steps (just add water, oil and salt) and the texture is so much softer!!
I’ve made red lentil hummus with kids in a cooking class because it doesn’t actually require a blender. Just cook them a touch more and they’ll be soft enough to use a spoon. Great option for low income families who may not have blenders or food processors. I think the Philly cheese steak was inspired and the quickest seitan recipe I’ve ever seen.

Great recipes and I will be making the Scottish soup and because I am actually Scottish will do a good job of it. Red Lentils are fabulous and my favourite but I also occasionally eat green and brown lentils. Grow your own plant foods if you can, I am going to be doing that from this year.
Absolutely had to subscribe and order the Book. I am neither Vegetarian nor Vegan but, in order for me to enjoy a 11/4" RibEye, a home ground burgers' juicy Pulled-Pork or an aromatic Chicken Masala, I truly need a multi-level-savory alternative in order to satisfy my cravings moderately. You two are the first Vegans that I've experienced who are Totally right-on. So glad I found You Guys. D
I make this Daal all of the time now....I just cannot get enough of it. I have recently added a handful of craisins to the pan at the end which gives you that tiny sweetness to offset the savoury spices just occasionally. My partner says it really works
My grandmother use to make a different legume EVERYDAY but I hated lentil day🤢 now that I'm taking the first baby steps to be vegan I know I need lentils in my life but I was wondering HOW? THIS IS THE BEST LENTIL VIDEO!!! THNX GUYS!

While shopping for beans and rice, which I could not find any at all, shelves were empty because of this virus, I found a 4-pound bag of brown lentils shoved way under a bottom shelf. They are my only protein but I have no idea how to cook them. I'm grateful that you have posted this. Thank you!
I am making the red lentil hummus tomorrow. One thing I like to do is buy those boxes of baby spinach, a few at a time, and stash the whole container in the freezer. Then I just pull off what I need. Obviously not good for salad, but excellent for cooking. That way it doesn’t rot before you finish it. Best thing ever. ☮️💕
No way! I'm so glad you asked! This morning I made a sprouted and dehydrated lentil 'protein powder' and put it in a smoothie for my 73 year-old mother's breakfast. So of course we were speculating about whether it would cause gas, that is, Lentil Ventle. I then said, if she were Jewish, we could call it Yentl Lentil Ventle. (No disrespect intended!)
