One question @TechTeacherNate - Everything uploaded seamlessly EXCEPT a "How-to" comment I had made in one of my Google Sheets. That re-uploaded as a sort of text note attached to the cell - any ideas? Thanks in advance.
The convert uploads feature you mentioned saved me from having to go in and individually convert like 150 documents from Word to Google Docs so THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is simply fantastic! Thanks for saving my life...it was so cumbersome copying, renaming and uploading files! Google should have the option of copying the files/folders in one go.
I had an entire drive to reorganize into standardized folders. You saved me hours, thank you. Just a note: sometimes small glitches happen when you drag the files from the desktop into the drive. You may see an _ where there should be none or an / changed to a -. Just briefly check naming conventions to make sure all is ell.
I was wondering the same thing?? Also once I download where do I go to find the download file/folder. I don't have a mac and trying to find them. please help
Not to be a jerk, but that's not copying a folder. That's downloading and reuploading. Great - if you're on a high speed LAN, or it's a small file size. If you're copying video edit files that can include GB+ data over the WAN, then that's not really viable.
Hi @TechTeacherNate, I'm glad you posted this video here, i talked to a developer in the Google Play department yestoday which is also a developer on the Google Drive. We have been working together on the Google Drive yestoday. If you select multiple folders with shift/command or just select one folder you can hold down alt and then drag the folder into the other folder. That creates a copy of the folder and connects the data from the main folder to the copied folder, which is a new thing. In the old days it just copied the folder. :-) I hope this helped out your problem. / Miguel
When I upload my folder, it zips all my files and the converter doesn't convert them back to their original format (in my case Google Forms). Any ideas?
Thank you so much! I am setting up lesson plan folders for the year for my team and was pulling my hair out thinking I was going to have to create 36 separate folders.
That wouldn't work at all for very large folders. Downloading several hundred GB as zip will time out long before it completes. Some batch scripts work for files up to 1000 or so files, but still have not found one that will perfectly copy all files in a very large folder with over 1 TB of data.
It is uploading documents as PDFs not sheets or docs...How do I correct that? I already "Checked" the box and still not working? Also, It is not copying all of the folders. There isn't anything in them so it isn't too large.
Thanks. Got the job done for what I need without me having to give away accessibility permissions to some sketchy app developer. Not sure why all of these a-hole comments from other people. It's something Google needs to address so they should be firing those message at Google.
Ther is a script which saves you the effort of syncing and reuploading. It is done in minutes and even gives you a log with all the subfolders www.labnol.org/internet/copy-folders-google-drive/29138/ github.com/ericyd/gdrive-copy
