You don't need to go to the emoji store. For a windows computer/keyboard, just click next to where you want to add an emoji and click the windows icon on the keyboard and the period. This is useful for adding emojis on many platforms. This might be a new feature, not sure.
I think the point of utilizing that website was because you can quickly and easily search the type of emoji you are looking for and it pops up, easy to copy/paste. Just ease of search when you're trying to find creative options. Theres a lot of emojis out there. lol
Thanks for your suggestions, Scott. I have used colors for folders but was unaware of emojis. I'm going to look over my Google Drive folders and be more systematic using your tips.
Only downside to consider with adding emojis is that if you are using backup and sync, it will change the file extension for all files and folders within a folder with an emoji. This can lead to broken links and cause some issues with live linked files not liking the emoji code. Waiting for custom icon feature with google drive that does not require adding emojis. Will probably wait forever... :(
now when you say Google share do u mean if you're creating a share document for others to use like in a training room with multiple trainers, new to using this for work, always used office but they removed it, so I'm getting caught up with Google drive on my work computer & is there any way to change the background color to your Google drive on desktop.
This was so simple, but really helpful. Thanks for keeping it short and sweet. I WILL learn to organize my mind and electronics, and home too. Better late than never.
So my work got rid of Office over night & been moving things all day, but wanted to have more flare & your the 1st video that showed me something other then grid view, lol 😊 thanks
Bad umbre I totally disagree with this post. Becouse the choices are obscured ,athe choices do not give a scheduling system .and the choices to not give you integration.
great tips, ,I also use asterixis next to the file that I want to be on top, for those that I use the most, if I put ** then that one will be first ( since they are otherwise alphabetically organized)
@@Simpletivity Yes, Eric. I'm writing a book so each chapter is a separate file, named starting 00_ 01_ etc. which keeps them in the right order visually.
PRO TIP: On a Mac, hold down the Control, Command and Space bar at the same time and an emoji menu will pop up. Only issue with using emojis is that they cause problems for IFTTT users. MY DRIVE TIP: I put important "top level" folder titles in brackets like this [WORK] That way, those folders always appear at the very top of Drive.
Thanks for sharing your results, Gregory. Yes, the emojis should appear in other systems where you access your Drive folders. But the colors may be limited to the actual file folder system you are currently in.

Hi, I wanted to ask a question. If you have multiple email addresses on your android/ios phone, and you switch between them to check emails or respond to emails, does that effect google calendars? I have a personal and work email, that I have open all the time. I want to know how I will be able to see my calendar for both?
My folder in Google drive dint change color. But few weeks ago I already changed and it's works. But for now Always pop up 0 folder updated changer color. This is a bug or virus something ????🥺
I know how to change folder colors, but can folders within folders be changed colors? Also, what can I do if I can no longer change folder colors? It's like I'm locked out or don't have permission.
It didn't change colour after five folders made in google drive. The sixth folder colour can't be changed .It says zero file updated .please solve this problem
Nice video! A suggestion: 7 minutes is a bit too long for just changing color and adding icons on file names... Looking forward to small and effective productivity videos
On the right side of your folder, you should see 3 vertical dots. Select this which will give you additional options such as selecting a color. I hope that helps!
