Google won't sort it out because they want to force you to link it to other devices to get more data on you and then to manipulate you via affective computing. Idk how else to explain stuff this dumb: it's a deliberate decision.

God bless you Mike. My Fit Bit had been found by dear mother after around 7 weeks, I couldnt wait to use it but had to change the time on it. I had been struggling for about an hour and was losing patience. I thought, I'm not sleeping until I change the time and luckily came across your video. Thanks Mike... it worked perfectly. I had a wee trip to Johannesburg for about 5 seconds lol. My fitbit is set a little differently to yours. My account icon is on the left instead of the right and I had to rake around to find time zones etc but I got there in the end. Thank you for taking the time to post this. Best bet is to remove the device from your account using the web based app then on the phone open the Fitbit app and force it to sync then the device should be reset and you can re add it to your account and it will take the time and date from your phone just make sure the app and phone are set to the correct time zones

I tried this method, but when I sync, it goes back to the same date that is, presumably, when it lost all power. Edit: I got a notification that I had to restart my phone to sync correctly. So I did, and now it works. Thanks.

Good morning Mike, I know it's been quite a long time since you posted this video but I just wanted to thank you for the information. I purchased a Charge 5 several months ago and I find (maybe not a defect - just an operating method for this version of Fitbit?) that whenever I let the charge drop below 1% a complete reset and time correction is necessary. Device reset is easy thanks to RU-vid although this doesn't correct the time. This AM I discovered your site and everything was solved!! I have been a quite devoted / fanatical (?) Anglophile ever since that evening on February, 9 1964 when I first set eyes and ears upon those Four Lads from Liverpool. I am 73 years old these days and was just a 14 year old lad on that wonderful evening. Now anything dealing with England, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales will simply and automatically attract my attention and I know this will never change until my dying day - and will continue long after that. Sorry, I got a little off the subject there but just wanted to thank you for the absolutely appropriate information. I don't know how many times I have said or thought this but I could actually listen to someone with your beautiful accent (or any of those in my 5 favorite and previously mentioned countries) simply read a grocery / shopping list and I would be enthralled by by the reading because of that accent. Thank you Mike. Worked perfectly on my Ionic. After the app updated everything went wrong, wouldn't sync anymore. Finally got it to then realised it was the incorrect time. Brilliant! Thanks again!

it was helpful but not for what my husband is having problems with. every now and then, the clock will not light up when he lifts my arm. No clue on how to fix this but at least your video showed me how to get to the clock setting. If you do know how to fix this annoying problem, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Great video. My fitbit versa lost its time when i changed the clock face, and I freaked out. But with this video i got great help. Will definently check out more of your videos
