Would you like to do some tutorial videos on the Roy Jones hands down boxing style focused more on attacking with the rear hand ? The video was amazing and helpful as always.
I have a question Tony. Since you're such expert at Beating The Jab. Why will the 1-2 hit you if you slip the jab to hook at the head but not the body?
I lost my first amateur fight refree give me counting on being defensive but it was hell of a experience and now after watching you I can counter punch in new way thanks coach and happy Teachers Day too🎉🎉🎉
Combine the first two. Parry with the left and continue with the jab. Like he said its not a power punch, but goes from a cocky shot to an effective counter when fighting a southpaw.
I've learnt so much from your clips Tony, but this is one is really the crem de la crem. Completely jam packed with easily understandable advice Also interesting to learn what is the equivalent of the 'nutmeg' in boxing
HELL YEAH MATE!!, this video like all of your videos is absolute gold, keep the videos coming champ because they have a lot of experience, technique and they're fire and on point like always Tony 🙌🔥🥊
Tony, once more I'm impressed about the perfect technique explanation you give about the Counter punch; tremendous variety. My preferred is the side step on the right and counter with right hand, generally followed by left hook.
This is a Superb Video, Tony! Of course, you are knowledgeable, and of course you're still sharp and in shape--but what REALLY impresses me the most is how Very Well Organized you are. Every single second of your videos is accounted for and useful and important. As always, thank you, and keep up the good work!
Taking boxing for fitness at senior center now, learning how to move, different types of punches, and foot work love watching and learning from you also Tony will be standing in front of my bathroom mirror practicing but doesn't look anything like your moves
Sports wasn't a thing for me..., untill: I think I fell in love with boxing. I am 53 years young, and love everything about it. The most caring people in my life I ever met ar those ones from the boxing club: Capitole in Gent Belgium. Thank you all. especially the trainer : Souat. Love you r Thing Tony.
This is boxing Gold. Coaching my daughter how to box by watching your videos. Thank you so much for passing on your knowledge Tony. She is loving your lessons.
I like how when dealing with any of the counters to the head, y'all are almost demonstrating coach Miltons hand-in-front-of-the-face defense. Like each time your partner jabs and you show the counter to the head by hitting his glove, he can simply have his hand in front of his face to automatically deal with the counter jab or cross. Moved to either side of the head for any hooks. Great to see how to do the counters and how to defend against the counters in the same video!
I remember when you were new and had like 10 000 follower on youtube, your passion and knowledge of boxing mixed with being an exellent communicator made you grow from 10 000 to 600 000, hope you reach 1M soon! I salute you sir. Your youtube channel is GOLD in this plandemic, and its FREE! I Will support you by buying a t-shirt, thats the least i could do, thank you king TJ! Keep em coming
I just started boxing a week ago I’m 21 years old I’ve always wanted to do the sport as a kid but never had the opportunity, now that I’m doing it I might compete next year! I would one day want to come train at your gym and learn stuff from you Tony!
Sure mate, Try this out mate: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kKDHdsVN0b8.html -- this video will help you start you career as a boxer.
I started watching your videos about two months ago and now I have a week training boxing in a gym near home, I am left-handed and I would like you to make a video about left-handers in boxing.
One thing to note coach. great jab defense will often see less jabs and most often times you will find out very soon your opponents skill level. this is the video i'd reccommend any one getting into fighting sports and boxing, coaches getting started, and flashy unorthdox fighters would benefit from this knowledge. This is it coach, thanks for covering the sweet science 14 minutes!!!!
Tony yesterday i had my first sparring. I managed to hit my trainer once, he laughed hard because i switched my stance and he didnt expect it. I had a begginer opponent who was always bowing his head downwards when i jab him it was so good. Now im working on body defense and counter punch from your video ! You really have great videos thank you for the free lessions
The last one was my favorite when you teach a debate that made a throwing their job and then move to the right that's what effectively moved to the right and keep you awake on your front foot so you can throw a strong punch
The best video covering the sweet science, period! Tony Jeffries is the Coach to beat with this video right here. I bow down to you man!!! with that said my favorite is hard parry opponents straight punch with the jab hand and follow it with everything I got from the backhand. So if i'm at a disadvantage its parry or throw my jab followed by upercut to the body or head ala "KJ Noonz vs. Nick Diaz" if you're quick and hit hard as long as you're not fighting a tyson or a mayweather KJ Noonz strat is very very hard to beat and the easiest to deploy in stand up scenarios.
Brilliant tony had my last amateur bout 4 years ago my sons 8 and he’s being trained by the same trainer that cornered me countless times love these videos mate
We have this tall guy in my Gym. He's like 6'2 dudes jab is perfect! Throws it without telegraph, fast, pulls back to defend, changes it up. Parry jab truly was one of the good ones that helped get in closer!
after the slip if he goes to throw his right just parry it with your left and that leaves you slipped around his right and his left is parried so just use your right either uppercut or feint into a smash
I'm going to have my first spar tomorrow with absolutely zero experience but who knows i have been watching your videos for 1 week now and i think i may be good opponent too even thought im sure i will not be able to defeat him
@3:11 the slip. That’s the inside slip the body but you said outside. Outside would’ve been to your right, and it would’ve been safe because you’re away from his left hand and his 1,2. what you did was slip left and facing his chest and that’s slipping inside. Not sure if you made a mistake in describing it. Just wanted to mention that!
My favourite counter punch to the Jab is when you can tell your opponent is just throwing half hearted jabs to keep you at bay, its similar to returning with the body jab and leaning to the right, but instead I drop down like Im going to hit him in the body but I either loop a hook up to his jaw, or loop a jab up top. Usually ill do a few counters to the body before it so he thinks Im going to counter to his body and try and block with his elbow, but then bosh the counter hits his open chin. Great video pal, im tempted to do the course and get into training people as Ive trained a lot of people the basics already, Id love to give the youngsters some guidance as boxing turned me into a much better person and got me out of trouble.
Some terminology differences for me - a jab is a jab but a straight right is what you call a right cross but to me a right cross is what you do when you slip outside and send a right that crosses his jab - to me that is a right cross - but a hook is a hook and an uppercut an uppercut - although some call half hook / half uppercut a shovel punch.
Have my second amateur fight coming up. In a sparring video, the guy I’m fighting out landed me by 2 punches in total but every one of his punches were jabs, he didn’t land a single right hand so I really need to focus on defending his jab
Great video. Thank you very much. I lean heavy to the slip counter body hook and need more ways to mix it up so people don't know which way I'm moving.
My favorite counter to the jab is the body jab but I do it from a lower stance, bob more, and move my head to the side more to set up a shift to the right.
@@Tony_Jeffries I’m glad I was able to give you some credit. You mean so much to the boxing community. As someone from a small town the only person that knew enough to teach me is now sick and not able to train people. Giving access to this kind of knowledge for free to amateurs with no other means of learning is crucial in the development of some of the next generation of boxers. I believe you and few others will go down in history for revolutionizing how boxing is taught in remote locations. No one can express how much we appreciate your contribution to the community, and the impact you have on the sport as a whole will become much clearer in the coming years. Thank you for what you do.
My favorite jab counter is a technique I learned from JKD and carried it over to boxing. It's basically like the parry to counter except you put your hand out to parry WHILE ALSO throwing your jab at the same time. You cant do it all the time, but it's very effective at disrupting whatever your opponent thought he was going to do. It's not very common in boxing so most don't see it coming, and it's disrupts their game cause that's some new shit they haven't seen.
Thanks for sharing your boxing knowledge, my favorite jab counter is the parry of which you started off with and slip with a double body hook followed by a double head hook or offhand elbow for I train in self-defense.Much appreciate the various possible counterattacks displayed and offered in the video they will surely help me in the coming months with my progression.GOD bless you and your team, friends, and family. Paz y bendiciones 4 vida! 🤘out.
