In this video I come out of retirement to show how to prepare a purchased Fish Blank to create a 10 pound Largemouth Bass Replica. I have over 50 years experience in Fish Taxidermy and have won numerous awards at every level of competition. Even though I'm now retired, I still enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. Great Video! 16:29 Been a taxidermist since I was twelve and soon to be 60. Reading the comments and questions from your followers which are almost all friendly and polite it is clear those in touch with hunting, fishing and outdoors are the salt of the earth and becoming rare creatures. Thanks

Thank you for the videos. Please keep them coming. I recently caught my personal best large mouth and want to mount it myself using a mould. We weighed it, took a bunch of pictures, then let it go.

Why did you primer the eye? Is it that easy to take primer off withought scratching it later?

I prefer to use glass eyes (not plastic) for that reason. A little lacquer thinner and 0000 steel wool polishes them beautifully.

great stuff , is the mouth plug latex from a wax mouth pour ?

Yes, plug is latex. I use silicone in my molding, but wax (or plaster) would probably work too.

This mouth insert came with the purchased blank, but I believe I showed the process in one of my earlier videos.
