I hope you like this video! There’s a lot more that goes into personality, but this is a fun exercise you can do to develop the very qualities you need in order to become your best self✨ What’s your personality type?

I was actually struggling with creating an alter ego but this makes so much sense. For intjs the main character that represents this type is Batman or Tommy Shelby and on the other end esfp it’s someone like Anakin or Ron from Harry Potter they usually do things spontaneously in the present moment , react quickly to there environment, they don’t need as much time to think about doing something which is my weakness.
@itszoewinter
@itszoewinter 4 месяца назад
Thank you, I’m glad this resonates☺️ There are so many great INTJ characters (like Snape!), you’re lucky! But those are some questionable role models you’ve listed haha “Spontaneous, resourceful, and outgoing” definitely sounds like Ron though! I’m curious, do you feel pressure on yourself with these things? I know I feel my inferior Te as never feeling productive & certain enough, but I wonder if you’d relate to the qualities in an ESFP in the same way?

@@itszoewinter haha true I feel like intjs are mostly portrayed as villains. And yes I I feel the same way my inferior function (se) is the hardest for me. The external world is very stimulating / distracting at times so I often tune it out. Being spontaneous is hard as well I usually have to plan things out days or weeks ahead. This is where the alter ego would come in handy being the person who jumps head first into anything and just goes with the flow of life

It's funny that while you were talking about wearing different masks....this is something I do at work. Normally I am really shy and withdrawn. But at work (as a nurse) I'm very outgoing, confident and very extroverted and chatty. This was a skill I developed working in retail and customer service.

Thankyou, I really like this video and it makes perfect sense to me. Also the way you described the different types helped internalise those characteristics better. I am an INFP, and this resonated because I do engage in fantasies when trying to avoid the reality of the now, and I have always had a great ability to read people through my intuition (which alot of friends have dismissed when I gave them a soft warning about someone, but has later turned out to be true). It can be a hard life I think as an INFP, as I crave genuine interactions and to share deep conversations with those that validate my experiences with the world. But it feels to me atleast that how I see the world is not the norm. Cheers

Very interesting, I'm an INFP and I can get quite stuck staying in a visualising or planning stage, for example doing various mock-ups of a room that needs renovating instead of just getting some paint and painting!
@itszoewinter
@itszoewinter 3 месяца назад
Yes haha this is definitely a relatable struggle😅 Lately I’ve been learning lots about our Te aspirational function which can make our stack very powerful if developed! INFPs are the visionaries, and especially your Fi Ne can help you find many great ideas, but without action & consistency it never makes it very far.. this is why I like to use our opposite type (the subconscious) as an alter ego, as it can help develop the inferior function (Te) while still being supported by our other conscious functions.. I hope this is helpful!

I’m happy to hear it😊 As a fellow INFP, I’d be curious to hear whether you also relate to these opposite qualities? For instance, as an Infp there being such a focus on developing better productivity and discipline?
@ranikster9955

@@itszoewinterI’m definitely working on them. I’m a So/Sx 9w1 925 and while I can be productive at work, time management and being super organised and super structured are just not my strongest qualities. In my experience life would be a lot easier if I were an ESTJ or even an ISTJ 😊 but it’s not easy to access these sides of oneself although I have to on a daily basis in my work and every day life. My characters would also be Hermione (ESTJ) and Elinor Dashwood (ISTJ)

Really like your content, especially on the shadow. I am also infp Edit: wow, I just searched the opposite characters and I somehow I despise them when seeing on TV, but secretly admire their qualities. This opposite alter ego idea is very interesting. Thanks

Thank you, I'm happy to hear you find it interesting😊 Haha it seems so off-putting at first, right? The ESTJ is the professor archetype and something I believe us INFPs greatly admire, even though it's so different from ourselves! One of my closest friends is an ESTJ and while I can never seem to understand her, she pushes me out of my comfort zone and helps me use my Te which really helps✨

Hello Zoe, Great work you got from adquiring different ideas into a big one. I was looking for something like this but I couldn't combine it as good as you. What was you main goal before you achieved this ?

Being the opposite of an ESTP is pretty hard in this world lol. Especially as a guy 😅
@itszoewinter

Would be a better world though if more people were INFJs! Our types are similar so I can relate a bit (even though we have opposite functions, Fi/Fe, Ni/Ne,..) but it’s the same struggle with being spontaneous & living in the now🙃 Do you have any ESTP characters you admire? Apparently Captain Kirk from Star Trek is one which seems like a great example haha

@@itszoewinter Stan Pines from Gravity Falls is probably the closest one to my ESTP shadow lol. I do have that side somewhere but it's definitely dormant.

Thank you for explaining all of these negative personality traits. Great to find out that I basically have all of them on both sides 😂. Also, the opposite personality to mine apparently is The Joker from Batman...so should I ask "what would The Joker do?" now? I think that would make a big mess😂.
@itszoewinter
@itszoewinter Месяц назад
Haha dw it’s rare to find anyone who has developed their functions without prior knowledge of it! But if your type is ISFJ (focused on security & social harmony) its opposite ENTP may help you embrace new experiences and your own wants over others for a more balanced perspective… think Jack Sparrow or Tony Stark? They would probably take more risks, do things their way, and use their Ti logic to trust in their own decisions😉 It’s definitely a tricky type to find good role models for but maybe that’s already telling you something! ISFJ is the knight, ENTP is the trickster and both are each other’s shadows (best metaphor is the dark knight & joker, perfect opposites of each other!)… also I’m not saying to force yourself to be this different person, but try to recognize its traits as a way to playfully express these shadow contents :)
@MrReese

@@itszoewinter Very well analyzed ☺. I know the role models you mentioned of course from the site as well, but joke aside the Joker is actually a good role model for me to not take things too seriously and just go for stuff instead of ruminating and falling into analysis paralysis.

I'm an INTP by personality and 5w4 by enneagram. My opposite type is ESFJ. But I admire ENTJ and wanna function like one. The shadow is fascinating despite it being my repressed and weaker side and in my case it is ENTJ shadow. So, do you think it's better for me to look upto an ESFJ character (cause it's actually the reverse of my type and more feasible for me to develop my weaker functions in my stack that way) or to live like an ENTJ cause I admire ENTJ and want to be like one?
@itszoewinter
@itszoewinter 3 месяца назад
That’s really interesting that you most admire your shadow type! You might have an easier time using your opposite, subconscious, type as it already takes on a supportive role for your ego- as an INTP your Fe is your aspirational & inferior function, which is dominant and in a healthy stack (using your conscious Si & Ne functions) for ESFJ✨ However your unconscious shadow type, ENTJ, is the complete opposite of each of your functions and the type you’d have least control over, but is often viewed as an “alter ego” type because of this! If you admire ENTJs and think it can help you grow, go for it!! May I ask what it is you admire about the type?
