Exactly where I am in my VO journey. I don't have anything whatsoever recorded. I have my DAW, mic, and slightly treated room but now, I'm at this step. Thank You so much!
This was SO FUN! And I love how you don't take yourself too serious! At first I thought you were going to re-do the words cause I thought it would be too silly the way you did it...but in the end, it REALLY sounded great! The most valuable take-aways are to see where you are at with your processing, thanks for showing your effects rack! The second take-away is Story Blocks! I have heard of them before, and this confirmed for me it would be a great investment.
This video was incredibly helpful, thank you! and if that was an improv script off the top of your head, you absolutely crushed it. As a writer myself, that copy and ad is gold and Diet Pepsi should buy if they are smart. 💯
Dude, your content has been vital for my development to prepare me for this industry. Your information from products, to the product, to the business end is priceless! I like your personality. I watched videos by weirdos. A few good tips came out of it.
Hi Anthony, thanks for the nice help and sharing this with us newbies. It would be interesting to see a new version of this, to see what might have changed or improved with your methods ;-)
Mr. Anthony, would you be able to post a video for us using Adobe Audition. A fully edited ACX audiobook VO using no external plug ins other than what comes with the program? Like no NS1 or RX7,8,9. Just out of the box what is supplied with Audition only. NS1 is an affordable plug in but the RX suite is expensive for someone just starting out. Just joined the FB group and been a knowledge bomb I am grateful for. I appreciate all your hard work trying to get us noobs up and running. Cheers my man
Question: How do you feel about using the final product from a project you were hired for in the past and using it in a demo or as a single sample? Whether you only do the voice, and they add music and sound effects, or you do it all yourself, would there be any difference? Is it cheap/lazy/cheezy, or is it industry standard? I don't know enough to know if people do that and if it's seen as professional or not.
Hey Anthony, not bad.... Why do I say; '...not bad'? First, please understand, I do my own processing as well, and have presets set-up, however, if you're going to create a 'How-to' video, I think you should show how to process the audio as well, which really is the most important part. You did a great job showing how someone can put music, use the multitrack, sound effects, fade-in/fade-out, etc, but the most important processing audio was missed. Just a thought;)
Great vid Anthony (my names Anthony too, but I prefer Tony haha!) I would also run some side chain compression on the music using the vocals as the input source. Also, I run a small amount of compression on my master to glue everything together. Careful not to overdo either type of compression though👍🏼
Hi Anthony Pica. I am here for another great video from you. Thank you so much for making all of these. I love your setup there in your editing room and VO Studio. You were my inspiration. I "had" a problem. I like to travel in my RV a LOT. Well, I built a VO Booth in my RV Garage. You should check it out and tell me what you think.
