The tote is too cute. Because crochet totes tend to sag, I would suggest instead of single crocheting the edge of the opening, crochet the slip stitch. Doing so will prevent the sag/stretch of the opening.
For anyone wanting to use a different size yarn and keep the same size (or maybe make a larger/smaller bag), I’ve discovered that the same stitch is used in the Saltwater Afghan, and Toni’s “Clawfoot Stitch Tutorial” says to start with any multiple of 2.
This is a cute and practical bag. The design would also work well with different fibers (think plastic or hemp) to make durable market bags. I love it.😁
I JUST got my Happy Place yarn, and it is so unbelievably soft. I cannot believe how nice it is, especially for the price. You knocked it out of the park with this collab, Toni! Hobbii is lucky to have you -- I have never bought from them before, and I would again (more Happy Place, if it's available!) because this yarn is so nice
My mom asked if I could make her a bag for her trip to Hawaii this year, and I knew I’d find something great in your catalog! Super easy and super cute!
I just finished my own On the Go bag today using Happy Place Melange in the color Cinnamon. It’s my 30th birthday and I couldn’t imagine a better birthday present to myself! Thank you Toni for all of your help and I can’t wait to make another one of your patterns soon 😊
What a gorgeous bag! I love this stitch and usually use it as edging on sleeves or necklines. I dislike making ribbing so I use this stitch when the neckline and sleeves are wide enough for it to work. I never thought of using it for a bag. Genius idea. Got a few baby blankets in my queue but look forward to making this bag. I always love your patterns and you explain them so well. Congratulations on your beautiful yarn and 600,000 subscribers! ❤
I am definitely making this ASAP. Been looking for a bag design that can hold all my things and still have good shoulder support and this looks PERFECT. Excited to try yout yarn as well!
I just finished this bag with the base and the SC around handles in different color for cool accents. I can't believe how fast I finished this (yay I finished). I'm going to use to cart a round my planner and supplies I need for work that are an awk shape
I’m excited to start working on this project as I’ve already downloaded the pattern and ordered the yarn! Congratulations on this venture. It seems as though it is a success since there are several colors that are sold out! Thanks for your wonderful videos. They really help me with the new stitches.
Oh no I just promised myself out loud in front of my whole family I would not be buying any more yarn cause I really need to finish my stash first & 'there isn't anything I can think of I wanna make which I don't already have the supplies for' Insert your video, beautifull free (jay!) pattern and gorgeous yarn (with your face on it! I don't have that in my stash... 😬) 😂 oh dear, you got me in trouble Tony
Love this so much! Didn't do the bottom part so I stitched both sides together. Looks great! I can adjust the strap width too and make the bag how big or small I want. Thank you!!!
Thank you so so much for this! Amazingly perfect timing as well, I was looking to make a bag for my moms upcoming trip but nothing seemed right until this! Wonderful tutorial and design as always! 👻🧡
That is a beautiful stitch pattern. I carry a backpack instead of bags so I might need to use the pattern but modify it to be a project bag I can put in my backpack.
I have a question, do i need 4 skeins or 8, in her video she said 4 but she also double the yarn as well. Im new to this so Im still trying to understand technique ?
Hello. Received for yarn and it is indeed beautiful. Much success with this collaboration. I love the bag and will make it but not with this yarn. I want to make a beautiful shawl or a top. Want to feel the softness. Taking a little time to decide on what to make. Congratulations to you again.❤ from Cleveland,OH😊
THEY'RE HERE!!! 🥳🥳🥳 my Happy Place haul just arrived and they're PHENOMENAL!!!😍😍😍 I'm swatching them right now, and they really bring you to a happy place ❤ I opted for the solids: orange, the two yellows and cinnamon, they'll became a hexagon granny cardigan very soon 🤩 please, please, please tell me there will be a restock, I literally crave the plum and the dark purple, they went sold out the very moment of the launch
I just got my Happy Place Yarn from Hobbii! I love it! ❤ It is soft and I love the smell ( yes I sniffed it, you all know we all do)! Can't wait to make the Fairy-Dust Cardi. I bought color 22. I know that the pattern was done in melange but I bought a solid color. I also bought one ball of color 14 because I might just add a splash of a different color to the sweater, or maybe do somehing else knows. I love them!❤😂🎉
Definitely going to make this! I’m going to have to stripe it because I only ordered single balls of the colors of Happy Place I ordered… so I’m thinking I will make the base then start on the bottom of the bag and work until I have enough left for the join.
I was listening to this while making a gauge for a different project and I really want to do both at the same time now, but then I know I won't get either done lmao
Just curious, I skimmed through the video to get a sense of how it's made... Is there a reason why the base wasn't made first and then move onto the body straight from it?
@@TLYarnCrafts Girl, nice thinking ahead! I couldn't figure out why, but dang, that is so smart! This is why we trust your channel Toni! You're amazing, keep up the great work! Lots of love.
Hi Toni, I really love this new project! I just wanted to know if there is a reason why you didn’t begin your work with chainless foundation stitches? Thanks a lot for all your tutorials, With love from Paris 🥰♥️🥰
I did mine in 100 percent cotton single strand just looks more holey if that makes sense it also will be more flimsy cos there isnt 2 strands to hold it firm
Can someone explain why we double up the yarn instead of using a thicker yarn? (I'm a beginner.) Are two strands of weight three stronger than 1 strand of, say, weight six? Would my bag not work if I used a thicker yarn to save money by halving the yardage?
Here’s a great video about the benefits of using 2 strands of yarn. 😊 I came to the comments trying to figure out the pattern multiple of the starting chain so I can use double strands of #4 yarn and keep the original size, while also using up my stash yarn. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JW8z6hRnQGQ.htmlsi=90158cP1fuN8gjCK
Hello I'm semi new to crocheting. The light Dk yarn is a little confusing. Is it a 1or 2 weight yarn. I quess what I'm trying to say it's like a #4 weight. Thank you.
