Brilliant tutorial, I've really struggled with making a crocheted bee, now I finally have a successful little bee, thank you for sharing your talent, you made me chuckle quite a few times throughout because you are a real natural, so relaxed whilst filming, what a gem you are. I look forward to seeing more of your tutorials.

*WOW 🐝🐝🐝! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY MY FAVORITE AMI TUTORIAL EVER 😊💝! YOU ARE AMAZING!* NOT ONLY DO YOU HAVE MAGICAL FINGER'S, BUT YOU ARE FUNNY, VERY RELAXING TO WATCH YOU WORK & SO TALENTED & CREATIVE!!! PLUS YOU EXPLAIN EVERYTHING IN GREAT DEPTH & YOU ARE VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND 😊💙!!! I LOVE HOW YOU EXPLAIN & ALSO SHOW US HOW TO HAVE SEAMLESS LINES IN CHANGING COLORS! WHAT A GENIUS IDEA! VERY HAPPY TO BE A NEW SUBSCRIBER & I CAN'T WAIT TO WATCH THE REST OF YOUR TUTORIAL'S FROM THE PAST & YOUR FUTURE NEW ONE'S 🐝💙😊! I'VE ONLY MADE ONE AMI FOR MY 8 YR OLD GRANDAUGHTER & IT WAS A "CAT RUNNING THROUGH MY HAIR 😹"! I STILL HAVEN'T FINISHED SEWING ALL THE PIECES TOGETHER BUT I DO HAVE IT ALL PINNED TOGETHER, LOL 😂! I ALMOST SWORE OFF OF TRYING ANYMORE, BUT AFTER WATCHING THIS TUTORIAL OF YOUR'S, I THINK I WILL TRY TO CROCHET SOME MORE OF THEM 😊! THANK YOU FOR YOUR AWESOME TUTORIAL'S! YOU HAVE DEFINITELY INSPIRED ME TO GIVE MYSELF ANOTHER CHANCE AT TRYING TO MAKE MORE AMI'S 😊!!!

Awesome tutorial!!! I love how you provided links to other videos that would instruct us on invisible seems, I have been wondering about that with other bee and changing colors tutorials, so THANK YOU for that as well as very clearly stated and concise instructions on making this little cutie!!! I definitely liked, subbed and rang the bell!!! Might I suggest placing something dark, like a piece of paper, a shirt or whatever, down on the table before recording any white and/or light colors so it is easier to actually see what you are doing? Otherwise the work just blend into the background, even more so since so much light is used to show the work!!! Much Love!!!

I don't have the plastic eye things so instead I make a magic circle, then I crotchet one stitch into it. After that I tighten the circle and sew it onto the blank face, to create eyes.

↓ Written instructions and time codes (find printable version at ClubCrochet.com) ↓ (01:54) Wings (make 2): [All in White] Ch 7 (each st in the next row goes in a single ch) Row 1: Skip 3 chs, Tr 1, Dc 1, Hdc 1, Sc 1 (4) Ch 1, cut the yarn and pull through. Use the two tail ends to sew onto the body of the bee (on the first black stripe). Making the perfect stripes: The following color changes in the body uses a techniqe called the “No Cut Join” to make horizontally aligned stripes. To make a more perfect stripe both horizontally and vertically, see my video here for the invisible join: ClubCrochet.com/STRIPES Body: [Starting in Y (Yellow)] Ch 2 or use the magic loop method (04:44) Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook or into magic loop (6) (05:15) Rnd 2: inc (sc 2) in each st around (12) (06:16) Rnd 3: [sc 1, inc] repeat 6 times (18) (07:14) Rnd 4: sc in each st (18) [Color changes start here] (08:38) Rnd 5: sc in each st (18) [All B/Y] (13:30) Rnd 6: sc in each st (18) [All Y/B] (15:11) Rnd 7: sc in each st (18) [All B/Y] (16:43) Add eyes between Rnds 2 and 3. (18:30) Add a smile between the eyes using black thread (or split black yarn). (21:19) Sew on the wings in the first black stripe. (25:08) Rnd 8: [sc 4, invdec 1] repeat 3 times (15) [All Y/B] (28:25) Rnd 9: [sc 3, invdec 1] repeat 3 times (12) [All B/Y] [All Black from here on] (31:15) Rnd 10: [sc 2, invdec 1] repeat 3 times (9) Stuff thoroughly. (33:22) Rnd 11: [sc 1, invdec 1] repeat 3 times (6) (35:24) Rnd 12: invdec in each st (3) (36:31) Cut, pull through and sew together. Pinch the end to make it a point.

Do you *have* to twist the yarn around each other every time? I'm having trouble holding my yarn like you, my natural hold makes it easy to grab each thread without twisting them every time, but i don't know if that will mess it up in some way if i don't twist them and just make sure i grab the right color every time.

Definitely! First check out my queen bee pattern here: clubcrochet.com/queenbee/ That makes it significantly bigger, but also try using bulky yarn instead of worsted weight. That should make it much larger!

I'm not sure if I've made a mistake but I can't even get my hook into the colour change stitches. Its way too tight, but I didn't use any more tension than I normally do and I never have this problem. Anyone know what I did wrong?
@ClubCrochet
@ClubCrochet 4 года назад
It's a lot easier to crochet tighter than you think when doing the half color changes. You probably just need to loosen your grip. Maybe try using a larger crochet hook.

Try using smaller yarn like sock weight and a smaller hook (size e maybe?). You'll get a little bity bee with that. The trick is finding the right eyes but you can use bullion knots with black yarn.
