Chain (ch) the width of your scarf, making sure the number of chains is an even number
Row 1: Ch 3, 1 half double crochet (hdc) into 5th ch from hook. ** Ch 1, 1 hdc into 2nd ch from hook ** Repeat pattern within ** until the end of the chain. The last hdc should be in the last ch.
Row 2: Ch 3, 1 hdc into first hole. ** Ch 1, 1 hdc into next hole ** Repeat pattern within ** until the end of the row.

Question! When repeating row 2 for completing rows 3+, is the 1 hdc always into the first row? So for rows 3,4,5, etc, the hdc is still into the first row, or the one below it? Thank you for the tutorial!

hi! i have never crocheted before and came across your channel and i think it’s going to be a big help. i’m pregnant with my first baby and thought it would be a sweet tradition to make my baby their first stuffed animal. i bought Leisure Arts elephant 8” complete crotchet kit off of amazon thinking it would be easy for beginners, and i was completely wrong. i don’t know if you take requests but maybe you could help me out with this, if you’ve ever thought about doing step by step video (: sort of random and definitely not a normal thing to request but i thought check! i will definitely be watching all your videos anyways though (:

This is a great tutorial! Unfortunately I’m having trouble as I go along, it keeps getting smaller, turning into a triangle. Anybody know why this is happening and how to fix it?

you probably found the answer since posting this comment, but youre miscounting! probably forgetting a stitch like maybe a chain? but if it turns into a triangle it means the stitches you have has gone down somehow, meaning you miscounted the chains or stitches you wouldve had to done.
