Can you please show how to finish/secure the join? Also, when using this to join Granny Squares how do you deal with the intersections between rows and columns? Also, do you have a chart that shows this technique used for joining Granny Squares in a continuous type join?

what I did is I crochet a single acros the sides, cause then you can apply the mattres stitch or this stitch as well.

4:10 You are ging into the third stitch and out of the fourth here. So all following stitches of this side are not lined up to the matching ones of the other side. The seccond stitch is actually, where the yarn end comes out. So you have to go in there in that moment. For using the same yarn as Usedom for your piece, you can just keep a yarn-tail of your shown length at the locked end of your piece and use it to sew the edge. At the position, i told above, now the yarn goes from the locked chain-stitch into the seccond stitch, that you count. At coming out of the first stitch be sure, that your needle is at the outside of the strand, that goes into the seccond stitch, to hide it more inside of your work.

Very good video. Thankyou. FYI, those are the 'chains' of the stitches that you're going thru. V stitch is 2 double, triple or longer; crochet stitches in one chain with one to 3 chains between. for example (dc, ch2, dc) in the same stitch or chain...creates a V shape.
@AmandaLuisaOfficial
@AmandaLuisaOfficial 6 лет назад
Thank you for that tip! There are a few different things that refer to a V stitch in crochet and both of us are right!

I have another idea to close the end of a pocket inside my stuffed figure, that i chochet: The normal outside of the Single crochets is here the inside of the pocket. At first i work the first half of the last round in normal single crochets. Then i directly interlock the existing stitches (eexept the last two) with the next ones. I put the hook through the diagonal strand at the front of the existing stitch and than through the Stich of the previous round, where the next stitch should be. Then i do the single crochet through all theese things. So theese stitches are interlocked front to front.

Dose it matter what color yarn you join them with and do you have to use a yran needle cause I don't have needles rn
@jjpanda
@jjpanda 3 года назад
1. it’s better to use the same colour to achieve the most seamless look, but as she mentioned in the video, it still looks seamless enough even with a different coloured yarn. 2. unless you’ve gotten yarn needles by now, you can try using a bobby pin as your needle; secure the yarn in the bobby pin and use it to seam as you would with a needle. it’s best if you’re able to get a yarn needle as it would be extremely helpful for any of your projects, especially for weaving the ends in :)

This way of going through the middle of the stitch does leave a visible seam. The only seam that works for me is the mattress stitch which goes through the whole stitch side to side, when pulled that leaves a completely invisible seam

Question: If I use the same colour as my project, will it be invisible too? I searched how to sew crochet pieces and I think yours are the best.

I'm a little bit confused. Do you attach the pieces together with the right sides facing and the wrong sides on the outside? Thank you.
@kimquinn7728

She said the right side of the back piece was facing the table and the two front panels had right side facing up. Wrong sides were facing each other.

What sewing needle are you using?
@kimquinn7728
@kimquinn7728 Год назад
A large eye yarn or tapestry needle and she said that metal is better than plastic. Metal has large eye(just a bit smaller than plastic) but the metal needle slides through the yarn easier, whereas plastic tends to drag and pull on the fibers. Having tried both, she is right. Metal is much easier.
@inam6255

How do you finish off the end of any row? Slip stitch a time or two, pull tight and weave in the end along inside. Done.

@manicangel7796

I do not recc using those needles. The huge head needlessly stretches out stitches.
@kimquinn7728

Plastic ones are too big most often but depending on size of yarn used it has its place. Chunky or super chunky yarn for instance.
