After fighting my yarn and ripping my crochet out countless times, I found this video! Bobbins ! Who knew! Cant wait to start again tomorrow!(once I untangle the mess!) I’m trying to crochet a Christmas tree onto a cushion but really would like to crochet a westie on to a cushion!
Great video, literally just stumbled across it! So happy I’ve been totally intimidated by a 2 colour chart for a blanket, not knowing which way would be best. Tomorrow will start now I know exactly what and how to do it, thank you so much ❤x
Diamond shape, I love the diamond shapes, all colored in or just outline. When I have changed colors in my crochet it was never satisfying to me, thank you for showing me how to do it without holes. I will incorporate the usage of bobbins, when doing color work. As always thank you.
Hi Christine! Yep, it definitely takes a bit of practise to end up with no holes, but I'm a big fan of darning too! I love diamonds too - have you seen this www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/crocheting-diamonds-crochet-pattern-by-hilja-design it's a little free pattern for some diamond bunting - but it's really clever because Pirjo M's pattern shows you how to use the diamonds in other things! She suggests using cotton because it gives a good stitch definition - and she's absolutely right - although as long as you have a good firm twist on the yarn, it will work ok! Thank you for your kind comments! Love, Merion xx
Such a good tutorial. Thank you so much, Merion. And what a wonderful podcaster you are - you have taken the time to reply to every comment. That's so kind of you. It's rare that podcasters do this. Lu
Hi Kate! oooh I bet your graphgans are fabulous! (they are both maddening and fun, I completely agree!!) We're so glad that the video was helpful! Sending kindest wishes, love Merion xx
I love this. I did my first graph (after crocheting for 23+ years) just this last month 😳. It was ok but I didn’t pull the yarn to the front when I worked on the wrong side! So I have some wonky spots where I changed colors. Now I think I’ll do the square again. Thank you. I’d love to do a four leaf clover!
Hello Twisted Stitches! I think lots of people are a bit daunted by graphs and colourwork - and I certainly know I have to be in the right frame of mind to tackle anything with a chart! A four leaf clover would be fabulous - I can't find a cushion with one on, but I did find this little lovely St Patrick's Day bunting for you !! www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/st-patricks-day-garland-crochet-pattern-by-ac-original-creations I suspect that if you google four leaf clover chart you'd find one you could add into any plain pattern though! Glad the video helped! Kindest, Merion xx
For my first ever attempt, I have prepped, coloured, counted and graphed a Grateful Dead Steal Your Face logo. Nothing like jumping into the deep end hey? Your video solved the first two hurdles. Make little yarn bobbins and tuck behind for no holes. Thank you for having my back here 😂. I will touch sides here when I get stuck. If I may?
Hi Kathryn! WOW an axolotl on a cushion!! that would be great fun to knit! I will add it to our list! Thank you so much for leaving us a comment! Lots of love from Merion and the LoveCrafts team x
Hey there! Here is a link to some of our Hedgehog sweater patterns, which you might like: www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/search?q=Hedgehog&filter-type.en-GB=Patterns&filter-project.en-GB=Sweaters%20and%20Jumpers 🥰✨
Thanks so much for sharing this ❣️. Would you be so kind to chart a snow leopard s face? I’d like to make it the center of the back of a shrug 🤩🤗 thank you 😊
Hi Della Dearest, there's a gorgeous snow leopard in this pattern for gloves - there is bound to be a chart in this pattern to help you! www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/snow-leopard-knitting-pattern-by-kulabra-designs Kindest wishes, Merion and the LoveCrafts team xx
@@lovecraftscom thanks but this has to be crochet and larger. I’m thinking of making a shrug so this would be in the center of the back, then I would finish the rest around it. Also I don’t have much confidence doing this so if you were to make it, how much would you charge? Thanks
Hi Kathy! I would aim to start off with something where you only have one colour to change - so perhaps just try it out like I have with a test swatch and one little block - and then maybe try something like a heart in one colour. Once you've had a go at it, I am sure it will drop into place! You can do it!! I think perhaps this Westie Cushion could be the project for you !!! www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/westie-cushion-crochet-pattern-by-little-doolally Kindest, Merion xx
Great video, I made a graph pattern of a wolf pawprint and it turns out really well when finished, and trust me its not exactly like all them adorable rounded pawprints. If your interested in seeing it let me know and I'll give you the pattern I'm planning on making all my patterns free for everyone to use and to have something to do exspesully during these times. only thing I cant figure out how to do is make it smaller but keep the shape of the pawprint, I've also been trying to turn my drawings into graphs but its proving to be very difficult and I've tried stitch fiddle (free version cause I cant afford the paid one and one other free program like that and they dont seem to work very well as they make the picture blurry and just a mess, if you have any ideas and or tips for those I would be happy to hear them.
Hi Maru, that sounds absolutely fantastic - if you do write the patterns and charts you can upload them on to the LoveCrafts Designers platform, which is here designers.lovecrafts.com/ The paw prints sound super cute!! Thanks for sharing your plans! Kindest wishes from Merion and the LoveCrafts team x
Great video.. I have been looking for other stitches for graphgans, I found a few but there has to be more than the sc, dbl, half dbl, c2c and block stitch and another idk the name.. its pretty but only in the round. Back and front don't look the same. Idk. I tried knitting, that is not my thing. I am addicted to the hook going through pulling up and the control of crocheting idk. Has anyone found other stitches that work just thought I'd ask..
Hi there, I think any combination of stitches that is reversible would work. Glad you enjoyed the video! Kindest wishes, Merion and the LoveCrafts team x
Thank you so much for the instructions which re very helpful but I am having to increase from 3 stitches in a colour to 7 and am really struggling as to how to make that increase ( not making an extra stitch just increasing the stitches in the block) Any advice most gratefully received.
Hi Connie. It's hard to advise when I can't see what you're doing - but if the pattern has asked you to increase within the colour, then you can increase in the normal way (either using M1 or inc 1) - are you knitting from a pattern or following our example? Let us know if we can help, - our Smiles team are on hand for any knitting queries xx kindest, Merion and the LoveCrafts team.
Hi there T-nT !! Oh a Christmas scene would be fabulous! (you're starting early!!!) These aren't intarsia but have you seen Kate Eastwood's Christmas Blanket? www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/christmas-blanket-crochet-pattern-by-kate-eastwood and her cushions www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/christmas-cushions-crochet-pattern-by-kate-eastwood - absolutely gorgeous! And - we have a sweet tutorial from Chloe Bailey, for a Christmas tree cushion - www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/c/article/crochet-christmas-tree-cushion and that has a bit of intarsia to do! Kindest, Merion xx
Hi there Judith - I know just what you mean - sometimes there is just too much going on! But I promise, if you give this a little try with a chunky yarn, you'll see that it actually isn't too awful to do at all!!! Have a go!! Send a message back if you get stuck! Kindest, Merion xxx
@@lovecraftscom Thank you for your reply, unfortunately last year I had a fall which put my left hand completely moved from a normal position On my wrist. Now I am limited as to what I am able to do, luckily I can hold a knitting needle but doing fiddly things I cannot do thank you again and I must say that I love your shows, keep them coming.
