Welcome to Wow! Crochet.
In today's tutorial we will be learning 'How to Crochet the Preemie Beanie.' Why not make a beanie for your Preemie bub that not only keeps them warm and safe, but make them look fabulous as well?
Please note that the beanie will differ in sizes when using different types of thread/Ply/hook size and always check with the parent/hospital/carer if they prefer pure wool, cotton or acrylic yarns before starting.

Thank You very much! My very preemie grandson was born at 24 weeks and 4 days in Tokyo 794gs. end of last month. I’m going to find out what yarn the NICU prefers then have a go! Booties too when I’m game enough ;)). This will give me something to do for our precious Bub. He’s a little warrior experiencing big battles, he’s winning! Long way to go. Cheers Jen 🐨 Bris.

Wow that looks so easy even a Kiwi bloke can do it.lol Yes I do knit and crochet for the Neonatal unit at CHCH Womens here in NZ. Which of your tutorials would be best if, in my case. You are lost after double crochet, please advise ?

Mary thank you you were amazing, domyounthink in future you can offer a smaller size as well? I get requests for a lot of s’aller ones, babies are two pounds to three pounds often, I cannot make the ones for like one pound this hurts me it’s selfish but it reminds me of my son who was brelyb1-5 and ever made it. I lost him 22 years ago Aug29. These hats are all in memory of him.thank you so much for sharing this video you are the best.

You need to omit the increase rounds. When doing round 4 just put 1 double crochet in every stitch instead of 2 double crochet's in every third stitch and and make 1 row less before you start the post round

I have never used Caron Soft 4ply yarn before. But the yarn i used was like using a number 3 yarn. Hope this helped.

I was interested to hear you talk about the type of wool to use , a midwife told me not to use expensive wool because when the baby is finished with the hat it is thrown out .

I loved this hat. I just had a grandson born at 34 weeks and needed a preemie pattern. This worked great and I also like the better disguised line. I plan to make more hats in different colors and a written pattern would also be helpful. Is there someplace I could get a written pattern? Thank you.

@@WowCrochet my teacher is teaching me how to crochet. She said look up some videos so I found yours. Everything was going good and then it got bigger and only curved a little bit. I am only a beginner at this as well. I don’t know what weight my yarn is.
