For everyone that watches all the different crook trick tips and still can't get it, your trucks might be too tight. If you can't almost pinch on the ledge then they aren't loose enough yet. I had to change my whole style of skating just so I could crooked grind. I used to only be comfortable with super tight trucks and hard bushings because I felt stable, but it honestly prevented me from landing so many things.
Overall skate hack is to learn all your grinds on a small grind box like 6-8 inches tall and he them good like really good hauling balls and then go to a bigger box
@@zhou_sei so what hes a scientologist, everybody hates on him for that but its not like hes going around promoting it or trying to convert ppl, all hes really hurting is himself
@@PunkFuckUp from what i understand, he IS promoting it and i don't know the validity of this claim but apparently he even tried to hook in minors through his skateboarding endeavors. i hope it's not true. anyway, i won't support him by giving him views; money in his pocket is money in scientology's pocket.
I suck at them but I recently figured it out (for me At least) I didn’t realize a lot of it was about me putting my weight more on my back foot because once I put my weight on my front foot I would always overshoot or eat it but once I started using my back foot to balance my pinch it made sense plus I could bail without worrying too much . So yes it’s about the punch but you gotta even that out somehow.
great help as usual and this loooks like an amazing place to skate chilling in the grass. well at least better than my overly polluted overly crowded parisian skatepark : )
I’ve been struggling with trying to learn these, I always get into a BS nose grind instead, end up overshooting the Ollie and pinching the opposite side of the truck. My box is about 14 inches tall, any tips? Been trying these like 2 hours a day the past week or so and on and off for about a month, super frustrating lol
u probasbly got it by now but... for whoever is reading, not rotating ur shoulders helps me alot its like doing a tall enough ollie to fly above the ledge and then tweak the nose into the ledge if that makes any sense. I learned them today and ive been struggling too and thats my take on it
@@louismcg7601 bro try going for it with square shoulders do not rotate them under any circumstances and just focus on getting above the damn ledge I hate crooked grinds
Does your nose have to be on da ledge to be considered a crooked grind? If so what is it called if it's more on the trucks and not so much on the tail?
ngl these tips are so fuking good, not evenplanning on learning crooks yet but everything you say has much logics to it... beenskating for many years ;p
I've been trying this trick for a few months. I can 5050 and 5-0 on lock, but whenever I try crooked grinds I lock in perfect and stick every single time. Putting more wax didn't help either. And when I do get it to slide like I want it to, it's on accident. Any tips?
It’s possible that your shoe is in front of your board stopping your grind like a brake try pulling your foot up less so it doesn’t go in front of the board when you lock in I have had that happen a lot bc of focusing too much on the ollie into the grind and over trying.
i learned them a while ago but i know what most ppl struggle with from friends etc. if your trucks are too tight makes this one way harder but not impossible too soft wheels on rails especially slow u down immense in the beginning the grind is kinda wierd to full commit and ppl land in wheelie grinds my advise just put pressure on the nose if you are grinding it feels as safe as a noseslide for landing i think by far the hardest part to learn it in the beginning just try to be fast u kinda slip out of it and land it the kinda nollie u will learn with time depending on ledge or rail sometimes kinda kick ur board a little bit foward and dont grind just like a small corner of the rail atleast a bit of grind helps realy with landing it
great vid but when your still, you pinch with the Front Right of the truck, and when you go full speed you lock in with the Front Left of the truck, not sure which one to pinch when starting off on the lil box
I get so annoyed with this trick, bc I can crook my entire flatbar but my board always flips out, I've gotten like 3 nollie heelflips out and I still cannot do it regularly
