who’s in quarantine and doesn’t know what else to do so they decide to curl their hair but never have and now are here 🤠

I don't really understand how you open and close the clamp while twirling it

I love how you approach this literally from the point of knowing nothing about the curling iron for people who are brand new to the idea of styling. Really awesome and I'm sure you've made thousands and thousands of people more confident in working with their hair.

I just had to do this for my girlfriend because she was crying so much that she couldn't do it hahaha I figured out a 'cheat' way. Basically clamp the end and roll it back in towards your head. Makes it a bit simpler. Then you can build up to the turn and switch :)

I'm just checking in. End of 2019. 61 years old and bought my first curling iron. Been using it but figured I should check to see if I should be going backward with all sections of hair because I did a poor job the last time. LOL Thank you for this!

Do not be intimidated by a curling iron. I know absolutely nobody within my friend group that knows how to use one. They think it's too difficult. Everyone knows how to use a curling wand for some reason. If you don't understand what she means by turning the iron, you basically just twist it in the way you want the hair to curl. When you are twisting, open the clamp slightly so the hair can slide around the iron. Make sure your ends are under the clamp so they won't be straight and don't leave them in for too long. To prevent the dent or crease in your hair that is caused by the clamp, the moment you clamp down on the hair, start twisting to the clamp doesn't dent the hair. It won't dent after you start curling because it's purpose is to keep the hair in place on the heat source. Remember, this takes practice so if you are an absolute beginner, try the technique without the heat on. A curling iron makes more structured curls compared to the wand so it's your choice. In my opinion, I think the iron is better since you can create different looks with them from very glam and done up to more beachy and the plus is that you don't really have to touch the iron AT ALL since the clamp does that for you.

I am glad I found this video! I always curl my hair with a flat iron but recently started using a regular curling iron and I gave up because one side was so much easier to do than the other. I could not figure out why or what I was doing wrong to the other side. Switching fingers makes so much sense. This was very helpful thank you so much!

I used a curling iron with a clip for the first time yesterday using the method you showed. It worked pretty well for me thank you ! I never knew how to use a regular curling iron, only a wand but this was helpful for me. I curled my hair and it came out pretty, i just need more practice.

When I curl my hair I start it from the bottom and twirl it to the top and wait for 10-15 seconds and it comes out perfect!

before i watched your video my hair would get all those crimps, but this video finally helped me get it right!! took a while to get it right tho. but it was a better explanation than all the other videos. its all about which side of your hair you are doing and which way you turn the iron

Hi--excellent video. I've never used a curling iron--just hot rollers. When you say "close turn switch" are you actually opening the barrel & if so, why is that necessary? Can't you just roll up the hair keeping the barrel closed? Thank you so much, Julie
