This tutorial really helped me. This is how I figured out how to remember it: Left side: Clamp outward- hair outward Clamp backward- hair curls inward Right side: Clamp backwards- curl outwards Clamp outwards- curl inward

I tried showing her how I do it, but she insists that I be her personal hair stylist instead. Her sister is a stylist so she gave me some more pointers and I've definitely stepped up my game.

That's why you just buy a wand. The clip can be a real hassle especially on fluffy hair that does not want to neatly gather and play with the wand.

I never held curling iron to curl my hair until April this year when my sister was out of town and there was no one to curl my hair. I looked for some videos and this one was such a blessing. Thank you for the tutorial! I have been struggling with how to curl my hair and I have tried everything. I’ve curled it the traditional way (start at the bottom and curl up) and even bought an expensive Tyme iron to try to curl my hair (which worked but it was kind of tough to use and it always left my hair feeling fried). I finally broke down and decided to find a tutorial to see if there was a method I was missing. I stumbled on yours and used it yesterday. Not only was it fairly quick and easy, but for the first time ever, my curls stayed ALL DAY (without hairspray)!! Even after sleeping on it, I still have these amazing curly waves. Thank you for an easy tutorial and showing us a way to curl our hair that actually works!

I'm 68 years old and I grew up in the 60's when we ironed our hair so it was straight, I don't know how to curl my hair or apply makeup because we just didn't do much of that. This is the first time that I ever thought of curling my hair. I just wanted to thank you Cynthia for helping an old girl try to look a little better in a simple way, thanks

Omgomgomg thank you SO much for this!!! I've always used wands but I just got the bio ionic long barrel irons and was getting SO frustrated because I was getting horrible clamp marks. Listening to you explain the basics about the clamp was SO helpful and my very first curl after watching you was perfect!! I cannot thank you enough!

Wowwww I wish I would have came across this video yesterday when I was learning to curl my hair right before a wedding. All these other videos suck. This is the most informative video. She gets to the point unlike other videos of them chatting and not actually showing the technique. Thank you! Learning how to curl my hair at 33yrs old. Never too late to learn😅

Hey, I just went to the hairstylist for the first time in my life and got my hair dyed blonde with lighter highlights. They curled my hair super nicely and I went and bought a curling iron before realising I didn't know HOW to use it lol. You saved me! Thank you for your really clear instructions. I started off not understanding the whole clasp turns, release turn process but by the end of my hair I had it down and it made perfect sense.
