You totally inspired me to overhaul my phone and iPad over last weekend, and I have to agree with your comment in the previous video - it feels SO nice! 😊👍 I wanted a bit more of a hand drawn look, so I went ahead and drew my icons in Procreate (or traced a few where I wanted the recognizability of the original but also still wanted the lines to match the drawing style of the ones I did from scratch), but wow! I hadn’t even thought of using the new gradient maps! That’s a totally great way to do this where the goal is to still keep the original icon design and just change the color. 😃
Thank you so much for this!! But for some reason when I create the icon in procreate it looks good and then when I put that image in shortcuts it squishes. Do I need to add a specific size(I am using 500*500)?
it’s so weird - a few people have this problem 🙈 500x500px is what I have as well, and my icons are fine. But - I’m going to design another icon pack and I will try and figure out why this happens!
I m working on customizing my iPad and Icons but what do I do with the icons so they don't show up when I am using the ones I made. I seem to get both on the screen the icons that came with the iPad n the ones I made. Can u help
Thank you, I got it to work, however, when clicking on the icon, it has a second or so that blinks in to the shortcut app before actually going to the app itself. That’s very disturbing... is this also with you or did I do something wrong?
hi Brenda! Yes, unfortunately this is what happens. It first launches the shortcuts app and then fires the action which will open your assigned app. Sadly there’s no better way right now 😭
@@iPadLettering thank you for answering 😉 do you get used to it, is it worth it? Or does it keep on annoying 😅 cause I like the look and it brings ease. But the ease gets thrown away with the fast blinking 😔
@@BrendaBakker I changed my icons and find it annoying after awhile that it opens the shortcut app first. I was wondering if you also had an issue using split screen. That doesn’t work for me as well. Keeping the background but putting the icons back to the original.
Hey, I found a good tip online to reduce the blink annoyance.. go to Settings --> Accessibility --> toggle on Reduce Motion and Prefer Cross-Fare Transitions... Then it's fading instead of blinking, a bit more bearable!
ibis paint or chrome canvas both also work, but chrome canvas isn’t the best. you’d have to import a picture (in chrome canvas) that’s 500 x 500 pixels.
@@iPadLettering when I add it as my shortcut picture, all the rest are fine. But even when I tried Chrome.. same thing. Tried many, many different icons.
Made custom icons and used for a bit but decided I don’t like that it launches the shortcut app first. But the biggest problem I am having is that my split screen does not work properly now. Anyone else having that same issue? It was worth a try. Keeping the custom background but not the icons.
I agree with the split screen problem - it’s the biggest issue for me as well. But that’s why we put all the home screen icons in a folder right? So it’s easy to put them back 😂🙈
