Reminds me of learning Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point. I learned so much I have to try doing some customization. I am going to see about your new class it sounds very interesting. Thanks again for sharing.✌
I have learned so much just watching and learning from this course,(and other one's by you). Can't wait to finally start using my Cricut and making projects without being so confused! Thank You
Thank you so much for these wonderful videos. I am very new to cricut. I watched the unboxing and kick off videos to get me started and all went well. I learned so much. With this series (SVGs made simple)I have been using my iPad and I have successfully followed up until the end of #2. I uploaded an SVG onto my canvas and it looks the same as yours did. On the part of the video for iPads there were no icons above the canvas in #2 (14:21), but in this video, for desk top, there are and I can't seem to make them appear on my iPad. Is there a #3 for iPads? I would really appreciate any advice you could give me to help me get back on track. Thank you.
Thank you for this easy to follow tutorial, it was very informative. I do not have a scoring wheel for my Maker 3 and use a stylus tip. I would like to make the score lines deeper and usually duplicate the score line, how it is very frustrating in trying to line up both score line and attach them to the project. Any hints on how to do duplicate score lines and attach them to the project? Thank you.
I am new to the Cricut terminology. You mention attaching all the layers that have score lines to their cut lines. How do you know which are base cut lines?
I love your courses and ready to follow tutorials! Thank you for sharing your expertise! My scoring stylus doesn't seem to actually score my prayer, however. I believe i have it inserted correctly, but the score line isn't very indented. Any suggestions for that?
No, that is completely separate. You will learn how to design and make your own SVGs in Illustrator and/or Inkscape. jennifermaker.lpages.co/cut-above-svg-design-course-about/#pricing-early-bird
I have a hard time know what size to make my items I am cutting out for the card I am making. I waste alot of paper getting the size right. How do I know if the size on the mat will work for the size I need on the card?
What class would you recommend…I would like to convert pattern pieces to SVG so I can cut them on my Cricut. I make purses, wallets, etc. Not all designers offer SVG files with their patterns. Thank you!
No, it is a completely separate course that teaches you Illustrator and Inkscape. jennifermaker.lpages.co/cut-above-svg-design-course-about/#pricing-early-bird
This is awesome. I am having trouble with the select and attach portion. All my colors are changing to yellow. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I have repeated it over and over trying different things, and I cannot seem to get past this. Help anyone? Thank you.
To Attach images of more than one color together, the colors will change to the color of the bottom layer. This is because Attach is used to keep everything on the same mat, and two different colors equal two different mats.
I heard that Cricut did PNG now so I bought a image from Etsy and I was trying to download it but I can't seem to get it to work on the design space. I put it on the design space and I get one picture That cuts but it's a shadow of the picture and another picture that is the total picture but it says that it prints and cuts. Can you help me 😢
Hi there! Yes, the png files are for print then cut designs only. Here is the link to one of my videos that may be helpful, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fWvKrmNAxTw.html
I have a small metal sign. It is shaped as a daisy. I want to cut laminate on the Cricut to the same size and shape as the sign. (I laminate to prepare the sign for sublimation design) I have copied the metal sign on a copier and sent to my computer then created an svg. The size is not coming out correctly in Design Space. 😢. I’m lost, lost, lost.
You will. Start easy and make things with not score lines. I have lots of projects that I use perforated lines for folding and it makes it easier. In Design Space you have to change score lines from cut to score and attach now. jennifermaker.com/cricut-scoring-tools-tips/
I am really discouraged, to be honest. I'm an educated person, but this looks too complex for a newbie. I've checked with my local crafting stores and they do not offer classes, so I'm at a loss. What are Layers? Why are there Layers? How are Layers used? What is the difference between attaching versus welding? Furthermore, when an SVG file needs to be resized to work with a Cricut joy, how do I know it will cut properly? Too many questions, and too much work involved to learn. I wanted to play with this for fun...not have to spend HOURS in tutorials. Comments not directed at you personally, but at the machine.
Here is the place to start! Take it one step at a time and don't get overwhelmed trying to do more complicated projects. We have a free series of online classes that show you how to set up and begin creating with your machine as a new Cricut owner! Here's the link to sign up: makeracademy.com/cricutkickoff
