If I meet some girl for a hookup (or even just making out) on a rave or a very messed up club, I'm fine. But I actually visit parties for the party hookups (making out) are just a nice gimmick if they happen and I will take the opportunity if it occurs (unless I'm currently in a committed relationship, of course).

I guess, challenging shoud still be done in an rather playful, not too serious way. Also, being aware, when to stop and move on to more common topics is probably important aswell. If you challenge her like pushing someone in an interrogation and exposing her contradictions and disassemble her whole world view, she will get offensive and leave, everyone would.
