going to work on this. I have a whippet/beagle mix that was a rescue. she has an awful habit of reacting to other dogs with the most horrible braying noise that makes her sound like she's being tortured. i'm guessing she was never socialized. thanks for the insight and advice
I’m at the end of my rope with my beagle. Rescued him and was unaware of his severe reaction to other dogs. I don’t want to give him up but nothing seems to help. Similar to the dog at 1:29 but 3x worse and starts it from 100m away. Focussed on the 5 needs and nothing improved (although need #3 is virtually impossible due to the reactivity).
I am sorry that you are going through this situation. How come you were not told or you were not aware of his reactivity? The rescue group did not notify you? Providing a dog's five essential needs is not something that you do it for few days and hope to see results. Your goal should be to improve the two needs of proper exercise and good training so you can improve the socialization. My last few videos on my channel focus or dealing with reactivity so take some time to watch them. I recommend you to watch this first: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hWJLBVSfW5Q.htmlsi=gwk9vO8lWScj2sVy
I take my Beagle to the park mostly every day, however, we do not get to train every day. My beagle reacts like the beagle in the video that was inserted. I do not socialize him with other dogs, we always try to stay away because my beagle will go crazy, I am afraid if I were to get my beagle close to another dog that my beagle will get hurt due to his reactive issues. Our daily walks can be very overwhelming, and I am not sure what else to do by this point.
My first tip is to not feel bad about the situation. It is normal to feel that way but if you feel you need help and you want to solve this issue, there is help. Next, don't feel pressured to walk your beagle and need to get close to other dogs. Try finding single dogs that you know well and ask the owners if their dog is reactive or not and then try getting your beagle to interact with. Next, if your beagle is acting up when sees other dogs, try to learn what to do when your beagle reacts such as the one in the video, try following the tips in the video and if you need my help, I am willing to offer you a free consultation to see if you fit my program. link.overdogdigital.com/widget/bookings/dcws
Hi Saro. Thanks for this video. I have a 4 month old Beagle puppy and when we are out walking and he sees a dog from afar approaching us on a walk, he will stop and sit and watch it come closer untill it is about 1-2 meters away, and then he lunges towards the dog in a playful manner jumping on it. Do you have a suggestion on what I should do in these situations? If I turn around the other way when he sees the dog and sits, he will keep looking back and have a concerned/worried body language as he does not like when people or dogs are behind him. Hope you have some good tips! Thanks
Work on improving the leash walk and also don't place your puppy in that kind of situation for now until you have some form of control. Watch this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GZWHF-GPV8E.html

Get your beagle to completely focus on you rather that anything else. Training in all levels would be ideal. This video will help you. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6h6XK_E4Flk.html
