I have done this in comand promt for years and just found out you can just 1. click the file once to select it 2. hold down shift 3. press del . this is a Force deletion like in cmd !
i tried this but it didnt work. i used the Command Prompt as shown in the video and i did every step till 1:47 in the vid. but it didnt get deleted. the Administrator says "the System cant find the file" and if i use the other name it says "directory name is invalid". what should i do now??? EDIT: i finally did it!!! and i didnt even understand that kind of things. the solution for me was really easy and dumb! since i am on a german language PC (i am from Europe). i had to use "Desktop>DEL /F virus.exe" instead of ">rmdir /q /s virus.exe". now i am really glad that i got rid of that annoying file! ^^
what if the location I want to delete is in my disk D where my important files located Can I delete that? what is the assurance that my files will not be part of the deleted items.
my taskbar does not work I have tried restarting my computer so those do not work but the change your permissions says access denied when I try it, please help.
For those to whom this trick won’t work Try this - Simply shut down the pc and ‘After Some Time’ when you will start it You will be able to delete the folder (Also check if any update is due on your pc , first update your pc then try this)
I installed Forza 5 on the system two nights ago Then the setup file was left on my system The size of the file was 127 GB I tried to delete it, no matter what I did, it didn't work I spent almost 4-5 hours trying to find a solution to delete it I tried almost 10 methods I restarted the system with an unpleasant feeling I went to try again And the file was deleted. Your video saved me from being completely hurt. Thank you❤️
Howdy. Nice. I would like to mention two more things to try. Boot into Linux from a flash drive or a bootable DVD. I use Ubuntu from a flash stick. Booting into another OS breaks the link to system services that prevents deleting. Run chkdsk on the drive where the file or folder is. Chkdsk fixes error in the journal and the file or folder becomes deletable. This worked on two instances for me. Regards.
Thank u that cmd command worked for me A unknown acc on LinkedIn downloaded something in my laptop and now a folder is saved permanently in it and i cant delete it But now its gone Thank u
So if its not working sometimes it with have a different name so type this rmdir /q /s Virus.exe~1 Or this rmdir /q /s [your folder name]~1.DRI It will show what the name is on dir /x where you copy it it would be beside [your folder name] and it will have ~1 or ~1 . What ever is there
THANK YOUU, youre a live savior :"D But, iirc, in 01:45 the 'real' file name is on the left (its shown on my cmd), I used that instead of the file name Still, thanks a lot ❤
can you make it shorter and go straight to the point because most of the people who get to these tutorials are already frustrated of spending more than and hr or more than a day trying to delete a file and then you give that kind of long intro to get to the point we already know, and on top of the cake you missed steps, and/or leave your written commands there for 2 secs or so like if we were the flash, missing spaces is a big deal or not? Don't matter because either way it did not work in the least. A suggestion, next time you do a tutorial please make it for "dummies" (dummy proof - Don't skip steps, mention any spaces you leave between commands, and leave written commands for more than 2 secs because the video quality is the worst) Thanks but conclusion - IT DID NOT FKG WORKED GRRRR...
