I hope you like my attempt at a Japanese style district. This is new to me (never tried this before!) so I hope you like it. Apologies that I got confused and said the "Pearls from the East" DLC was Japanese, when of course it is Chinese inspired. Overall I think it compliments the "Modern Japan" Content Creator Pack and the other workshop items chosen too😀

Love the Japanese themed area, If you found a larger Japanese themed statue you could put if on the island on the coastline, as something to see for the ferry's. Also don't run the same monorail on both sides, connect the two area's with a short subway line and have a new monorail line on the tech building side (name idea:- "Digital Tea Leaf"). Also the Japanese area could be called "Sakuraya Ocha Chiku" (Sakuraya is a tea made from cherry blossoms, Ocha means tea, & Chiku means District).

It'll put a sharp reverse curve into the monorail to get around the building on the shoreline side. Worse a much sharper turn if he follows the street. That's what I hate about CS ... it puts in turns on railway, monorail, and metro lines that are too sharp to navigate

Suggestion: i really would like to see some beautification of the city with a realistic approach. Like putting down signs as you did in this episode. Some ideas for more realistic details: back alley stuff like trashcans and containers, more signs, random benches with a food truck next to it, random kiosks, a weird footbridge in a random place etc. you get the idea. I think this would also help to make certain districts more unique. Maybe this can become a new project/city, where you focus on hyperdetailing and aesthetics rather than the core game mechanics. TL;DR: Use more props, Biffa, we can see them no matter how small they are :p
@ReshiramUndRayquaza

Love what you did!! ...for the most part. You put the panda sanctuary directly next to the big busy transport hub, after moving the bee haven because of one monorail station... You could "at least" move it further out 'the tip', there is still enough room. That's all. I really like what you did with the rest! -Nik

This is so aesthetically pleasing, Biffa. Well done! First I would try to have a Japanese inspired whole district on an island, maybe including the self sufficient buildings, which mimic a Japanese aesthetic. Second: I would have one Monorail on each side and having them meet in the middle by the highway. Like a Y shaped track system.

Nice! A while ago, I suggested a Japan-themed area around one of the transit hubs on the other side of the island, but this will do just nicely. Street and location names can include Matcha and Sencha, which are the two most popular ways of preparing green tea in Japan. Another suggestion is Tapioca, which isn't tea. It is however used in Bubble Tea, also known as Tapioca Tea, which is a beverage based on iced tea with tapioca "bubbles". I have never tried it, but I understand that it's pretty popular. Small suggestion: at the start of the dirt road leading up to the "duplicated" temple, put a torii gate. It's the one in the tab with the bamboo fences etc. Any such temple site would absolutely have one.

I don't think you would normally have a Service Station and Restaurant so close to a major cities block like that. You have to think of all the hungry trucker rolling in and out with their trucks. That would really snarl up the roads. Looking at the view at 30:53 It would be better to move the station to where that flyover junction is, placing it just slightly back from the main road. A little landscaping with trees and rocks around it could make it look like a typical British Motorway Service Station. Then you will have plenty of room to run the Monorail along the edge of the water before swinging it over the rail track. (You may have to lower the track to ground level) Maybe even include a Monorail station near the Service Station.

Hi everyone, I am actually the original creator of the castle on the steam workshop. Im happy and surprised to see it on youtube and glad people use and enjoy it! I created it way back when the game was fairly new, and at that time there were next to no Japanese assets available for the game. Since then so many more talented people have created so much for this game so I haven't created anything for this game for some time. It was created using Maya Lite and Photoshop to create the texture maps, there is actually an error/mistake in this model that no one has pointed out or noticed (that I know of), but I will leave you to spot it haha!

Love the aesthetic you have going there and interested in how you get the Monorail round. Also thought the Panda Enclave would end up in the Zoo considering the size but that is a good spot.

As it is all centred around that one road, it could be called "Sencha Street" (Sencha being a type of green tea.. and according to wikipedia, it's even the most popular tea in Japan) ☺

Well done with the video fades Biffa. 👍 Not sure how you will get the monorail past the service station! I would have put it between the two main roads between the roundabouts. It would be a service station for both roads. 😉 With all those white trees I thought you were getting snow flashbacks from the un-modded vids. 🤣

In the Modern Japan assets, could that Upward Wall Mounted Light be an Upward Alien Rock Mounted Light? (Just thinking back to your floodlighting issue earlier in the series...)

Maybe change the color of the monorail to either the pink or orange tree color, to honour your new japanese district 😊 Your timelapse with the before/after effect is amazing 😁

I'd argue for pink and against the usage of trees from the wrong season at all.

For getting the monorail to the tech area, I would remove that service station and have the monorail to straight through, curve and pass over the train/highway, add in 1 more stop in that current empty space for when you do develop it later, and then swing it back around to run straight into the tech area. And maybe have that new development be a super bougie residential area for the ppl who work in tech and want easy access to the Japan zone

Hey Biffa, love the content. Another tree that goes well on japanese districts are Bamboo Trees. They look really nice when there is a bunch of them together. =)

A good name for the disctrict would be Teakio, like Tokio =D

Instead of connecting the areas with monorail, I would add a bus route from the hub to the IT area.

In the spring in Japan they let azaleas grow. There are huge fields of them. If there is asset you could surround the bird and bee haven

I quite like the differences of New Tealand and Antarteaca. They use CitySkylines both very differently.

i think you ought to do a soft grand circle around to come around to the other side. BUT, i would have the monorail either swing all the way down to cover that new area, or branch and cover the new area. maybe have the route from the shopping area come down and through, and a separate express line to the tech area with a smaller number of trains.1 or two trains.
