How to Design the Perfect Backyard Landscape
Ever wonder how we design the perfect backyard? We walk thru and video your ideas & backyard. Live in another state - we’ll make this happen via Zoom. Now the walk-thru video helps our design team with your preliminary ideas . . Watch Micah here and remember what this backyard looked-like for comparison to the finished outdoor space. Then you can see if we hit the goal for the client on designing a backyard landscape . . .
Once Micah hands over the video to the design team, a lead designer meets face to face with the client via Zoom - to develop all the details - style, materials, and features . . . this begins the design process.
Once the scaled drawings are complete, the designers and homeowners meet again via Zoom to look over 3D views of the design. Pretty amazing - can you see how these bring the outdoor living vision to life - it’s like walking through the space before the building process begins.

I’ve watched several makeovers from you. I think this is my favorite. I love that you have a covered good sized dining area and then the beautiful covered seating area with fireplace and bar but then you have a lovely open air seating area with a very elegant fireplace. The retaining wall was the right thing for that sloping yard. Bravo! PS. Bet they never sit on the upper deck now that they have such an inviting back patio and yard!!

Laura - I believe you are right about the upper deck - however, once covid is put to bed, perhaps in a large party setting, the upper deck will be used. It has a beautiful view. thank you for your feedback.

Hi I'm living in Johannesburg South Africa and for more than a year I could not figure out how to redesign my backyard outdoor space I kept speaking to the wrong people and wanted to start with a pergola a covered space but after seeing your very first video I knew exactly what my space needed as most people are saying old fashion just fill space with grass and soften the edges I did not want that was looking for flow from the pool area into a great entertainment outdoor space even spoke to a design student who perhaps will give me some great ideas but not quite what I was looking for

What is the name of the hardscape?

Hi Guys - (Love your handle - California Limon Heads) - The hardscape is called: El Dorado/Coarse Stone/Madrona - It is pretty effective here throughout the living space. You probably saw the throw rugs under the two grill spaces. Our Stager is pretty obsessed with rugs where grease may fall. No cement or paver is resilient enough to withstand the affects of repeat flying grease. Protection is a small investment and can add dimension to the area.
