Started Growing two years ago but found you last year. I followed you tis time last year and used peat and bags. Only lost two out of 18 tubers. Someone talked ME into awithing to Vic this yr as well. . @0 plants this season and ton s of great tubers. Gota thank you for peaking my interest in these amazing flowers. ... Oh and the Swan Island vid was great.

Had good success last year storing mine in vermiculite in an old cooler. Didn't lose any.
@darrinmc

Did you have to add water to the vermiculite so it was slightly damp? Or just straight out of the bag?

Straight. No add

Yes Connor, vermiculite works awesome, did it last year after watching GA. Make sure to dampen the vermiculite so that is like wet sand your tubers will remain plump as they did the day you put them away.

I going to do this in the next few days. The ones I got from you did pretty well! What did you do wrong last year? I see you didn’t cut the bags this year.

I let the tubers dry out for too long after washing them. They shriveled and rot over winter
@ColeSpolaric

I would suggest coarse saw dust. I'm pretty sure that's what's in the bags you buy from the store

Do you have to wait for the tops to die off? Mine are still in bloom and we haven't had a frost yet. It's been raining a ton (at least 10" in the last month) and I'm worried they'll rot before first frost.

A little tip. You should wash all the dirt in the beds not on the driveway and have dirt in your water system that you drink .I like your videos and who the girl in the video.

I think you might be better off storing the tubers in paper bags rather than plastic. Things tend to kind of sweat in plastic bags and that will encourage rot.
