A 22 cal bore brush cleans out the inside of the handle nicely. To prevent soap and water from migrating down into the adjustment shaft add a 1/8 ID 1/4 OD O ring to the shaft before installation and grease the shaft with silicone grease (Brake caliper or dielectric grease from the car parts store). Install the o ring about 3/8" below the head and when the razor is closed it will settle to the correct place when the razor is first closed. This simple mod will block water and soap from migrating into the void and gumming up the works. I use smooth jaw duck bill pliers to flatten the crimps on the head. you can re-flair them with a center punch.
Great video thanks mr Tobin! Have you made the video yet where you fix a bent handle? I just bought a 1940's super speed and the handle is bent it will be a HUGE help if you can find the time to make a video!
That's really helpful. I do have a question about the short black slim razor that is fully capped at the bottom, is there a way to disassemble it? Thanks
Thanks! Glad it helped you! 🙌 There is a way, do you follow me on Instagram? I can send you some pictures there. I need to make some more vids like this one. I'll look for an already existing video and if I find it I'll put the link in here
Very nice video. I have a SS flare tip with the ring in the bottom part, Im trying to find info on how to take it appart but cant find any, looking forward to your video
@M4H thank you! That means a lot! I've only been doing this about a year now, and I'm still kinda trying to "find my wings" so to speak. I genuinely appreciate hearing that its helped others 🙌🙌
Not positive that there is one, I need to make one. Let me see if I can find the steps that I gave to someone else and I'll post it in the next comment
So, what I do is I use this little piece of plastic. I just stick it in there and wedge it apart. Then, use the pliers to slowly bend them back once I can grab them
