i have them on my 65 livingRoom but in My Room bcz I sit too close I feel the cámara would be in the way and I won’t notice the lights bcz I sit too close to my 55inch
Thanks for the idea! As I have a walnut top to my tv stand, I ended up using a wooden watch box for mine. As they are used to display collections, they have a glass lid on them. So this allowed me to eliminate the monitor riser so it is now just a wooden box centered on my stand. The boxes are ~$10 more than the catch-all, but in total it is about $5 cheaper since you aren't bying the $15 riser. I will admit I was a bit unsure about the glass on the top of the watch case causing issues for the cameras, but so far there has been no issues. Thanks again!
@@MrTekSuggest It may be a bit. It is currently torn up as I am trying to blend your hack of the IKEA Vidja floor lamp with Govee light strips to see if I can get everything to work together.
SERIOUSLY smart!!! I have kids so having a tray full of pebbles won’t work, BUT you’ve still inspired some really creative ideas for me to do a similar setup! My new LG C1 TV is quite frankly too thin to mount the camera on the top as my previous TV and mounting it on the bottom would mean covering up the little control knob/joystick thingy. So this is genius! Thank you! :D
Glad that it helped! That’s funny, I voiced the very same pebble/stone concern in this video for my living room set up: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OlP_-v58v6c.html
Very nice video I wish they made the camera into something shaped like a small hockey puck. I think that's a lot less intrusive and can hide behind a soundbar
Theres another kit that uses a camera too. Its called Ambivision. The camera is kind of hexagonal shaped and connects to its control box via wifi. It can be placed anywhere in the room. It costs twice as much as the Govee Immersion though
Great video - Thanks again, you helped me make the decision to get these over the Philips or Mi products. Not only great videos, but you could be an interior designer too!
Yo thanks for this! Using this hack on my 85" tv should make a cleaner setup and will allow the cameras more distance from the TV to fully capture all corners.
Nice idea. I probably won't use the exact same method as you, but the idea of laying the camera down infront of the TV and then camouflaging it is definitely inspiring.
Great solution! I’m waiting on mine to be delivered after buying they on prime day. I had some concerns about the camera but being I have a 75” I thought it would be out of the way. I’ll know soon hopefully today is the day!
@@MrTekSuggest the setup is nice! The camera is out of the way for me on top of the tv. I am not able to get a 1:1 replication of the colors, but that is ok it is close enough. I watched a ton of videos and found, according to one video, that the color accuracy had to do with the ISO on the camera but was easily fixed with a cell phone ND filter. I have yet to try that, but I am happy with this product, especially for the price. It adds so much more to the experience of watching or playing.
You plan on making a video on putting govee immersion on larger then 65 inch tvs? I've found that bottom mounting is my only option. Just like to see how you tackled this situation. Good vid work out great on the TV in the bedroom 👍
Clean Video! I am rly interessted in how you managed to fit two LED kits on the TV!! I have a projector, which projects on a 80 inch screen, and it would be so nice to be able to use this kit on it!
Thanks man! I’m actually only using a single Immersion light strip behind the TV. The second camera is running my lfow pro bars. You can find more details here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QYmEPCA2vgQ.html
Thank you. I did I contacted them. I had it on the wall when it was popping. So maybe it’s to close to the wall. I think it was before. Hmmm I will see what I can do
This fantastic. I’m still deciding between a camera set up (with risk of ambient light messing things up) or a neo style HDMI box (then I’d need an HDMI switch and have to worry about hz support, better color but more hassle). This video helped me be more comfortable with having a camera and ways to hide it. Are you using to cameras because your TV is larger than the supported models?
Check out my latest review on the surround lighting feature. Two cameras are no longer necessary for the new model which bridges the light strip and the bars. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Vlpy5kPeg1g.html
That is incredible. Your whole setup is 10/10! Unfortunately, this trick won't work for me, because I have a moving wall mount, but this is such a great way to do it! I bet the color accuracy improves too, as it's obvious that with the standard setup, the camera is not able to see the screen all that well. There's only so much they can do with calibration too. Bravo!
You said it a few videos back that you could never go back to a standard look and you are right!!!!! I’m glad I went with the diamonds. Keep up the great vieos
I have a 27 gaming monitor and I want to light it up a little to change my experience but it's almost impossible to find one for 27-inch monitor. Please, is there a way I can bend it to fit my monitor? Thank you. Helpful video too
Hey man definitely check out this video here There's Never Been an HDMI Sync Box Like This: New Govee AI Gaming/Streaming Sync Box Kit ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LoT31LGER2Y.html
I watched all your other videos for the Immersion kit. This video just came in time. I have ordered the Immersion kit it should arrive in a few days and I will definitely use this hack
I think this video will really help us, we have a Curved Samsung wall-mounted and the edges of the tv are so thin, we have had trouble getting the camera to stay mounted at all. I cannot wait to try something like this with our camera. I am mostly happy to know that the camera is not required to be touching the TV also. Just being able to attach to anything else may help us. Thanks!
MAN OH MAN OH MAN!!!! You may have just solved my issue with purchasing these lights. I COULD NOT get past seeing that dang light mounted on the TV :-( One other questions - - why do you have two cameras (on the table top method)? Is because of the size of your TV? I have an 82" Samsung...if I go with this system, should I get an extra camera?
Hey man, at the time of this video, bars and light strips could not be run in tandem and require two cameras, Hense the 2 cams. Two cameras are no longer required to run light strips and bar simultaneously, however it is intended for TVs 55 to 65 inches. For your case I would go with the larger H6199 model 75-85”. This is the strip only model, however do keep in mind that you can add on additional products to expand the light show around your room. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Vlpy5kPeg1g.html
@@MrTekSuggest good deal. I went with the Govee DreamView T1 TV Backlight × 1 for the 75-85 inches and the Govee RGBICWW WiFi + Bluetooth Flow Plus Light Bars × 1. The plan is to use the bars as accent lighting behind my Martin Logans because they are pretty tall. I have a little more space between my TV and the stand so I hope your "hide the camera" trick still works.
Hello sir, question for you. I followed your set up however. The bottom middle led doesn’t follow the others in movie mode. It stays a solid color. How did you set up the calibration for the bottom middle?
Hey man have you seen my original review yet? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HgUM8DjP2uo.html when you calibrate did you make sure that the camera is able to capture all squares at the bottom of the screen?
Hey man, here is my original review where I show how I mounted them: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HgUM8DjP2uo.html also I show the dual set up process here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QYmEPCA2vgQ.html
This is fame changing!!! I just finally got my immersion Also because of the distance i think the camera will pickup the tv better And just got the perfect box for it
Hey man, when using this tabletop method, no. Because you control how wide an angle the camera has with the placement of the tray. I actually use a standard camera with my 75”
Can you make a Video or just a short tutotrial for people who want to use govee on bigger TVs. :/ i have a 75 and there is no way this will work hahaha
See I'm thinking about stealing that idea because I love it thank you but my setup is a little different because I have a 85 in TV and let me tell you put the immersion lights on that was kind of hard but I was able to get it to work
I feel your pain. I just installed the 2.0 on a 75 inch TV, and that was tricky. I had to install the strips about 8 inches away from the edge.Man an 85 must be crazy. Can you see the lights well at night?
“Ditch” is a slang word for abandon, leave or discard. You have not done any of these. All you did was hid the damn camera and misled viewers to watch your video. We are tired of so much misinformation everywhere. A great idea like yours does not need a misleading title. Just be honest and trust on your idea.
Title says “Ditch on your tv” which should’ve been sufficient to understand that you will still need the cam (obviously since the strips won’t work without it...) but not physically ON YOUR TV
Great idea and thanks for sharing. Why 2 cameras? When will Govee allow to sync multiple lights to one camera? Maybe? Would be nice to have an entire room of ambient lights synced to a single tv camera 👍👍
@@kev4iik The reason he has TWO cameras is 1 is for the surround lighting, the other is for the light bars on the side, this will work just the same with 1 camera
@@h9rae exactly what i Said! But you have to use 2 sets ( Bars and Stripe ) when u have an 75-85 TV. Govee has an set with 1 cam and Bars + Stripes but only 55-65. So i had to buy one 75 immersion and a bars set ( 2 sets 2 cams )
I loved this but doesn’t work for me as I do not have any stand. Tv is flush mounted and there is only Ethernet cable from modem to tv. We also need 2 sets of Govee light if I understand correctly.
hi, has anyone tried the concealing method using the new T2 govee camera, the camera that has 2 lenses? just wondering how good is that at picking up the tv screen when its not mounted on top? thanks
The camera is a small trade off for not spending over $500 on Phillips gradient strip with both separately sold bridge and play boxes and still won’t have any color output at the bottom because Phillips only covers 3 sides.
Definitely agree with these points here! The external camera tracking also has a few other benefits as well. Zero HDMI 2.1 limitations, 0 video source limitations, and 0 DRM restrictions
Great work, really enjoying your content on these Govee light strips. I'm curious, are you still using the ND filters on the cameras to get the correct ISO? As it didn't look like they were on in the reveal video!
Thanks brother! ! A lot of times, folks will find content helpful or informative, but don’t articulate it. So I appreciate you’re taking the time! As for the ND filter question, I actually have not experimented with that. So everything you see in this one and later videos are running the cams just as they came out of the box.
The Govee immersion kit is not as good as these RU-vid videos make it look. Regular TV watching is ugly compared to these fluid tests. No movie or show is as colorful. I'm glad someone else paid for my immersion kit. Folks do not buy the govee immersion kit. If you have money go with Philips. 100% accurate and not bothered by other lights in the room. The govee immersion kit is he dollar store version of a technology ahead of its time. The camera is not accurate.
Brilliant!!!! My Govee kit looks so much better now and without the camera in sight. The colors are more accurate and reaction time has improved. Govee really should learn from your idea and give the option and provide a table top mount.
Anyone use a USB-C extension cable? If so, which one and which length? Are you extending the camera feed or the LED feed? I tried using several longer USB cables with the camera, none have worked thus far...
Heyas just letting you know my project idea is almost completed. I have managed to utilise items already in my house in order to complete the same project (albeit with just one camera ) with a total cost of £20- just $26 USD. I have changed a few items swapping white for black -changing felt trays etc.So from 76.50 USD to just $26 USD for the same thing and save a massive $50 to boot.
Question dude.. why two cameras? And how do you calibrate with two cameras? My tv is a 75 inch which makes my Govee immersion lights not work that great, and I always thought it would be better if I could use two cameras instead. But I see NO INFO online about adding or using two cameras. Help??
Hey man, I just pinned a comment that will definitely help! And I actually installed the Immersion on a 75 as well, it works but there’s definitely a decrease in brightness.
I have a Govee Dreamview T1 Pro set up traditionally in my bedroom with the camera mounted on the top of the screen and it works great. Bought another Dreamview for the living room and tried your hack. But the camera doesn’t track properly. I don’t understand what is going on. Beyond frustrated. I don’t mind the camera in the bedroom. But I really want to hide it from company in a high traffic common area.
Thanks for referring me to this video with no camera. I have samsung QLED 65 inch on a TV stand not mounted to wall. . My TV's stand comes out towards the front. So I am going to have to think about it.
I asked Govee if the T2 can be placed under the tv as you did with this T1 and they said no it only works if the camera in on top of the tv. Wonder why, you got the T1 working fibe and so why the T2 would not work.
Can you help me …It connected to my wifi when I first set it up and it was working perfectly. About hours later it apparently disconnected and now it refuses to connect. I tried many ways but till not connect with my wifi .
Hey man, my TV is 65 inches. And I am running a single immersion light strips behind the TV as well as bars mounted below. More details here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QYmEPCA2vgQ.html
Amazing video bro, been wanting to get this but the camera bothered me. Can I ask did you just buy two kits and get them up on the TV? Or are both cameras attached to the same kit??
I'm pretty new to this, and the camera is the main reason why I don't have the govee, but why do you have cameras??? Is it because you want to make sure to capture the movements on screen? Does it have another use for it?
I have bought it used from ebay & everytime i try to connect it says “unbind from other device” i tried to reset it but it doesn’t work at all … any solution to this ?
What if you used a 13 inch portable USB powered monitor mounted to the back of the TV, mirroring the TV screen from an HDMI splitter, and then mounted the camera on that screen behind the TV? Yes, its about $150 extra, but wouldn't require any coding.
@@asagaston you would definitely have to have an enclosure or box that would contain both the monitor and the camera otherwise the interference from the led lights themselves would give inaccurate readings. Also, the minimum size listed on the current models seems to be 55 inches, so I'm not sure if this would be a viable solution at this point. The T2 camera looks a bit nicer perhaps. It was just released.
@@kaislate as it happens, I have a tv stand with a spare enclosed area that could house a small monitor. Could you tell me the link of the small tv you were looking at?
Awesome video! I'm going to try this and hopefully it will work on my 75 in mounted TV. Currently the cameras are at the top and bottom and don't see the entire TV and it looks off. Hopefully this hack will fix that issue.
