Hey guys I just thought I'd do a video while restoring the headlights on the Evo X.
and yes while I know they aren't in really bad shape it's the same process regardless so if you need to do yours then this is my amateur DIY process

Just fyi I think ceramic coatings don’t really provide significant UV protection despite their claims. I got a year before I had to do this again on my old Mazda 3. This is a great video and guide though. I think 2K clear sprayed on the lights is best but it’s super toxic and I won’t risk using it.

Will be interesting to see it goes then as on my car it's still looking good

Hey Jackson thanks for another vid. Is this the first time you have done this process on those exact lights? What sort of lifespan on the coating have you experienced in the past. Cheers

Hey man thanks, so I did my lights (same type of car) around a year ago and still looking perfect. If expect a good few years out of them and longer of toppers are used on the coating

The lights on my daily need restoring pretty bad but I have a 12mm shinemate polisher do you think that will work? I do already have the scholl kit

Yes you definitely could use that and depending on the style in headlight it could be a better option

Curious how long you will get out of the ceramic coat! I used a turtlewax kit on the s15 8 years ago that only now is yellowing again....although I suspect this might actually be better....

8 years is a bloody good result Really it can come down to how often the cars in the sun, washed ect. As soon as hydrophobics slow down on them you can just recoat and since I cowt my card every 2-3 years I'd just do the lights at the same time

@@EvolvedDetailsindeed, and in my case, how bad you can let it get before you realize...lol

As long as it's not going yellow again you could just clay and prep spray the lights and recoat
