Today we are going to do a compression test on this red Volvo V70 from 2004. The car runs fine in the engine and gears and sounds good but I still want to investigate how good the compression is on this Volvo. It has rolled 45,000 miles soon and there has been a lot of work on this to fix all the faults. Before I now add another penny to this car, I want to know a little about how the engine is actually doing. In this video you will see how to do a compression test on a Volvo V70N. It is the same procedure on all cars.
To my horror, I noticed that oil has been leaking everywhere after the oil cap gasket was probably broken. In the video when we change the oil and oil filter on this car, we hadto change the gasket on the oil cap as this was rock hard and broke when we did oil service. I will add a link to this video when we change the oil and oil filter on this Volvo V70.

When we lift the engine's plastic cover, we are surprised that the cables and cable protection look so healthy on this V70. Usually, the heat causes the flex hoses (cable socks) to weather, but on this Volvo they look almost brand new. On my Volvo S80 "Luxury Cruiser" I arranged new cable covers and flex hoses for the ignition coil cables, you can watch this video on this link if you like.
