I started on my nail extensions journey about 2 years ago using polygel and dual forms. I couldn't get along with the dual forms so I started using paper forms. Then about 6 months later I switched to hard gel and have been loving it ever since. I even started a social media account dedicated to my nails and I'm currently trying to figure out how to make nail school work (financially speaking). And so much of what I've learned over those 2 years came from this very channel! So thank you, Anastasia! You've helped me to figure out what I want my career path to be! Sending much love from Kentucky!💙💙💙💙💙💙
Good luck! I’m also in Kentucky and am learning as well!!! Idk where your at in Kentucky if you was close we could practice and work together lol I’m having a hard time with the poly gel and around the cuticle areas! I have been practicing acrylic nails for a year! I’m getting a lot better! I have so so much product and a practice nail hand I’m trying and working hard though
I know this sounds a daft question but I’m new to doing anything with my nails so at 5o yrs I’ve a lot of catching up.I bought some full tip nails to have a go at different techniques & was wondering do we not use glue anymore with false nails ?🙂
I swear by the Kiara Sky Gelly tips, they're so easy to work with and I get lots of compliments on them :) I actually started doing them because of a recommendation in one of your videos!
Full cover soft gel nails are my favorite and I use only Enailcouture for price and variety. I had trouble with dual forms until I started using a paper form under the free edge as usual BEFORE using the dual form it kept the underneath much cleaner.
My preferred method is polygel but without those dual forms! I simply grow my own nails and extend an overlay of polygel on top that way my natural nails are protected and don't break. I love this setting in the park btw! 🏞️
I use gel tips and have just added dip nails to my repertoire. I pretty much gave up on poly gel. I like the 10 second cure and then clean up idea. I love learning from you, Anastasia!
I have done all three at home over last year and a half.As I have progressed .I use a combo of full cover jelly tip ,add bias for strength .then either dip or gel polish over them.love how my nails 💅 come out
This is a very good and useful video 🤍For some reason, when I used them, the soft gel tips started melting a bit when I applied regular nail polish. I was traveling at the time and didn't want to use the lamp even though I brought it with me. The surface of the nails got very creased and they got a bit softer. Later I realized that this was because of the regular nail polish. I'd recommend using only gel polish with soft gel. For polygel, I've seen some girls put tips first and then use the forms. This way, the underside will be smooth and there's no need for filing under the nail. I've never tried it, but definitely will.
I just started doing my own nails at home because I couldn’t find a good technician. For some reason I jumped head first and started doing gel on form lol I definitely messed up the first time and had to take the nail off. But I’m learning a lot from this channel and others on RU-vid. I really don’t like that every time I get my nails done they look so thick. I do them much thinner and they last! I’m still having issues with the cuticle prep a bit so I just got efile to be able to do it like you. I hope it works! Thanks for amazing content 😄
Well, I have been doing polygel but after this video the dip method just seems easier. I really need a drill for polygel-otherwise I find it almost impossible!
The first time I did poly gel it took me 4 hours 🤦🏼♀️ but I used the poly gel to apply full cover nails. I didn’t know to flash cure so they would slip and slide everywhere and I was getting mad. So I’d have to readjust the nail and poly gel would come out the side so I had to remove that. Then do the underside. Then I would cure it. But then I still had to paint my nails. My hands were all sticky. In the end they looked good but my nerves were frazzled and I needed a nap EDIT: I like the first method you did. So you can use gel polish right over the full cover tip? No buffing, priming? Just base, color, and top coat?
What a great video for beginners! 👍💕 I think that you should promote your online courses at the Academy more in your videos. And especially in this one😉 You hold back on all the knowledge that you have to offer way too much!🤗💕 I finally received my order with the "sculpted" full geltips, after waiting 6 weeks for them. I am personally not a fan of using them but I have to have them anyways 😅 I never know when I need to do a set in a hurry😂 Thank you so much for sharing sweetie 😘💕
I've been using paper forms with polygel, but it takes me so long, so I'll always come back to dual form... And then proceed to remember why I hate them!!! XD The product ALWAYS touches my skin, the forms may end up crooked, and so much product squeezes under my nails. My nails are quite flat, and the free edges grows up like a ski slope, so it's been very difficult finding a good, efficient method of extensions. I've tried plastic tips, but they split. I wonder if the soft, flexible, gel, full-coverage tips would work for me?
Excellent tutorial I have been using glue-on false nails there are all different colours and shapes to choose from, my big issue is finding a glue that keeps the nails on for a few days. I will try your first method. I will let you know. Thanks
I started with tips and dip powder. But I’m trying the soft gel tips next for sure! Why are they called soft gel tips? The seem like just full coverage plastic? Anyway, super excited to try them, I’ve already got some on the way.
Thank you very much, I love watching your videos, learning to do nails and improve my English level, great job! You are wonderful! I hope I can also buy your course but for now I have subscribed and I am putting likes to all your videos that I am watching. 🤗💞👌🏻
My biggest issue with doing nails at home is using my nondominate hand. That swivel/printing method with hard gel is crazy hard with the non dominant hand. I do gel tips and poly gel now.
@nailcou i love your videos and russian nails are my favourite, could you please recommend some other soft gel nail starter kit because the kiara one isn’t available in my country ❤❤❤❤ Will be waiting for your response
to be honest this video is everything for us but ı have a question. I heard that someone said that we can use regular gel or hard gel. Can we use them?🍀🌸☁️
Of course ! You can use hard gel too, but this method is a bit more complicated and requires using tips or forms that’s why I didn’t include it in the video. Check out hard gel playlist on my channel, there are many videos on this topic 😉
These are great tips for us. Thank you. Also what does your shirt say? I'm on my phone and can't zoom in the be able to read it. Isn't dip powder acrylic but ground into a finer powder?
I've watched a few of your videos, it seems like when you8r working on the cuticles that you don't work on cuticles that have been soaked. If you don't soak, why not?
she's using the e-file to file and exfoliate the cuticle area. if she soaks the nail with water or cuticle products the e-file bit will get stuck/or will become unsanitary
I’ve seen and heard different views when it comes to the dip powder nails. As someone who isn’t proficient with soft/hard gel, acrylic or poly gel, would you say dip powder is better for someone who is still a beginner in doing nails on their own? Although there are more steps it seems easier and last just as long.
I think this is an easy method -that’s why it works for beginners . But once you get some experience with Polygel application.. usually people don’t come back to it 😄 at least for tip+ overlay . As Polygel is much easier to file
Have you tried sculpting your polygel using paper forms? That's what I tried after I just couldn't get along with dual forms and it worked much better. Or maybe sculpting your polygel over tips?
Hi Anastasia. I've watched many of your videos and also some others for doing nail extensions. I use either the dip powder or the dual form with the gel. But with either method, after a few days, a few of the nails start lifting by the cuticle area! I've been very careful to not get product to touch the cuticles or sides of the fingers. I don't know why this keeps happening. Do you have any suggestions for me? Thank you.
Can I use the primer that came with a Markartt Polygel kit with the Kiara Sky Gelly tips and Kiara Sky builder gel? Or do I need to purchase the Kiara Sky primer?
What’s the difference between the 9X nail lamp and the one on the description I think it was 9c.. mine says 6s. I want to make sure I get Ike that works properly
While explaining what’s in the kit for soft gel extensions, you mentioned not to use the primer if you’re doing this at home. While you are doing your nails you are putting on a base coat which you said is very important. I don’t see a base coat in the kit. Is this a separate purchase? Or is it just another name for the primer? I’m confused.
primer provides better adhesion but in my opinion - not necessary for home use. Base coat - is a gel, that Aldo provides an adhesion and first layer of the enhancement. IT should be cured in LED lamp (unlike primer). You need to use it when doing - soft gel extensions or polygel nails. If it's not included in the kit, it can be purchased separately
@@Nailcou What basecoat are you using when you do Kiera sky jelly nails? i’ve been trying to do them myself unsuccessfully and I think it’s because I don’t have the correct basecoat. TIA
Hi Anastasia, I want to start doing my own nails, but I have a few questions before I do. So im hoping you could help. - If starting brand new full set using dual forms, are your real nails able to grow underneath the polygel? - Can you do in fills using just the polygel, or would I need to do a fresh set from scratch? - Can polygel be polished over?
I have used poly gel personally and yes to all three of your questions. In fact, once you get good at the technique, it's a breeze. I love using poly gel! So yes, your natural nails will continue to grow, the extention will stay on the end of the nail. Yes you can do a fill with it, so no you don't have to start from scratch if you don't want to. And yes you can you nail polish over the gel extention if you want to. Both regular and gel polish.
I had acrylics for years and ruined my nails. Now I do a set of nails, glue them on with gel glue, then when they start popping off, I just glue them back on with regular nail glue. A single manicure can last several weeks.
I dont like fake nails because your real nails might break very easy and it will be hard to grow because that what happen to me before but now my nails are beautiful and long 😍🤩😘🥰❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿💅🏿❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡💝💝💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻
