Semi-Hallelujah! Finally, I got an email from Studio on the holding parameters problem. They said the problem is NOT going to be fixed in Studio 25, but IS fixed in Studio 26. Called them and ordered an upgrade to Studio 26. Tried a P+Z and the parameters held fine. Also, the problem of a parameter not going to zero but only close to zero, seems fixed. The upgrade cost me $30 instead of the full $130. But then I realized I now have Studio Ultimate, not Plus, so I don’t know if the $30 represents the level upgrade, or the number version upgrade. Whatever, things seem OK now. The number I called was 1-877-582-6735
Your P+Z explanation is a godsend! For linear Ken-Burns moves, I find it's easiest to start with the "animated slow zoom in", then modify the green and white frames to suit my pix. I initially thought the "On the Fly" mode would do this, but it took off with a mind of its own. An update on this would be appreciated. As crazy as PS is, I plan to stick with it vs learning another platform at age 87. If one can endure the personal research it takes to do stuff, the results are worth it to me.
After struggling with Pinnacle 26 Zoom and Pan for far too long, discovering this video was a real tonic. Excellent speed and pitch, clear, unrushed directions, time to make notes as a quick go to when I need it. Thank you Miklos, you really are the best at what Pinnacle itself should be providing, but doesn`t.
Thanks Lesley. The ironic thing is that I don’t use pan and zoom that much, and if I did, I’d have to review my own video to refresh my memory, and I know things would still go wrong. Hah.

I recently broke down and purchased studio 26 to upgrade from Studio 20 ( I have been a user of Studio ever since 3.5 diskette days) I thought the bugs would pretty much be worked out by now, but no. The most frustrating aspect is the grueling adaption process to the new (unknown to the user) insurmountable problems. Back to 20 to do my pan and zoom shots after three weeks of absolute frustration. Of course 26 just went beyond the return date. I finally found your great, patiently created videos and you now have a dedicated fan. George (BTW You can not import .mp4 videos that were created on Google Pixel cellphones until you convert them to , yes, .mp4, using a third party program. My trouble ticket is gone as is the e-mail address I was using to pursue the problem.)

Thanks so much for your Pinnacle Studio tutorials. They are excellent - practical, methodical and insightful and delivered in plain English (this from an Englishman!) that we can all understand. Most of all, you speak from experience and, importantly, from the point of view of the end-user; and that, in my opinion, is where those who design this type of software fall down so badly: they see everything from a provider-down perspective, rather from a consumer-up standpoint. So thanks for sharing this on RU-vid and keep up the good work!
Thanks Rowlands. Exactly, I agree; they put together all these remarkable programs, but don’t see how the consumer experiences it. Or, as I express it, they focus too much on new bells and whistles, and not enough on user-friendliness and program stability. I always picture a technician in a cubicle somewhere and wish I were there to tell him, “Yeah, it’s easy for you because you put the program together; but a layman has to struggle through a frustrating learning curve!”
Your comment that making a stable program is more important that adding features that are not working is spot on. I found your insights on the frustrations involved in using the program extremely helpful. Often we think we are doing something wrong and it is actually the software or program that doesn't function as it should. Thank you for this video and your insights.
Studio 26 seems more stable than Studio 25. So far I have not had problems with P&Z. I found this video one of the best I have seen. I found a guy that explained a program for flying a drone and he spoke slowly, confidently and very knowledgeable (A link to his page if you want to compare). I've been reading other comments on here and one saying 26 is more stable, and they are not going to be fixed in 25 but is fixed in 26 ????? I have given up and keep upgrading, only to find out that version has a fault and the next upgrade will fix it. I started on Pinnacle back at 17 and keep buying the upgrade, but I have really had enough. I will be sticking with 25 and I'm going to look at all your video's now I have found you. One thing you never mentioned in this video. When doing these edits, do you have to cur each side of the part you want to edit so it is a clip, or can you do this anywhere along the full video? Thanks piperscar. As it turns out, upgrading to Studio 26 DID fix the two things I was having the most problems with: Pan and zoom parameters not holding, and exporting crashing before being completed. I haven’t had problems with those two things, since I got Studio 26 last November. Of course, for me, pan and zoom can still be frustrating because I don’t do it a lot and I have to look over my own tutorial to get familiar again with the procedures. On the editing question you have, I think it depends on what procedure you want to do. For most procedures, you DO have to make a cut at start and end of what you want to change, because effects normally apply to an ENTIRE clip. For example, if a person’s audio volume is too low for a few sentences, you would make a split at the start and end of those sentences and raise the volume line a bit. Without that split, raising the volume line would raise the volume of that entire clip. Whereas, if you add music or narration on another track, you don’t have split your basic video track.
