Thanks for the variation!! I usually do a double jump>zdrop when facing the stage and normal zdrop when facing the blastzone. This will help me save my double jump when the first option is not necessary.
The earliest you can get the z drop detonation is 2 frames after the z drop which is really hard to pull off( I mean really) fixing your drift when your recovering is probably the most important thing to do when first learning bomb recovering.
As always amazing guide French 👍 I wouldn't have reached my current skill level without you & just when I think I've learned most of the link tech you simplify it & help me learn more every video. I'm also in the process of making a link montage with the thumbnail inspired by you to show my respects for my 1 and only teacher
Is there any trick to doing a boomerang throw off of a jump? By the time I move my thumb quick enough to hit the B button Link is already way off the ground
You don't have to wait if you're quick enough... And if you're doing advanced tech anyway, they all require quick timing E.g. instant rar I set my L to grab (z)
The "instant instant super hard bomb recovery" isn't that hard, just buffer the z-drop as soon as he pulls the bomb, along with holding down afterward, all you have to do is learn when to time pressing the b button (when the buffered z-drop comes out, if you press it any sooner before he z-drops it he'll throw it) Note: do not buffer the grab button along with the holding down otherwise he'll d-throw it, put some leeway in between inputting both inputs for the buffer. No need for complicated execution :)))
man, i thought i was DOPE a year ago, pulling off the bomb recovery that you refer to as ‘easy’. kinda hurt tbh. just kidding - i’m glad that they gave link a tool like this. it is easy, very rhythmic. that being said, i can do it quick nowadays but that 1 frame recovery is pure luck for me so i don’t really do it in serious matches but it’s hilarious that you can do it consistently
Thanks French, I love your vids because you don’t just show the input and say how to do it, but you actually give methods on how to practice it in training mode : )
