Read me!!
I love Cipriana Quann's hair - it's awe-inspiringly voluminous and stylish. Since we have similar textures and denisties, I've long since experimented with some of her looks. In today's video, I'm going to show you how to get from loose hair to this.
Answers:
1. Clumped hair is clustered loose hair resulting from previous twists (or plaits).
2. Plaiting/braiding the base of twists leaves a useful anchor for retaining sections.
3. Clumped hair looks its best when stretched every night.
4. Wrapping the ends before rolling or tucking them prevents knots. (I got this tip from NappyHeadedJojoba - thanks Ti!)
I am fortunate enough to have a talented musician as a friend. Check out her music here - / 90s-baby-freestyle - give her some love from me!!

1) Love the Quann sisters. They're the reason I'm hip to loose twists in the first place. 2) I love the idea of wrapping the hair ends. I'll have to try it during the cold months. 2) How dare you inspire me to do my hair today! I was trying to avoid it until you popped on my feed.😆

Why don't she have at least 1 million subs??? Is it because she don't put texterizers like a lot of these RU-vidrs?? Or is it because most of us don't embrace this beautiful texture.. BTW, your hair is GORGEOUS sis😘😘

indria drayton hey Love! You’d be surprised I actually can plait (braid) neatly. I readily do it for friends upon request. There are two reasons why it may seem as though I can’t. 1) I’m really gentle - this is how I’ve managed to retain length. When I was younger and had relaxed hair, it was often neatly and properly plaited (and I often did it myself) but also stunted in growth. In fact, I really thought it couldn’t grow. Manipulating my hair as little as possible and working with it helps it stay on my head. 2) I do a modified plait for stretching. It helps my clumps take on the shape of the plait better. I show the technique in this video: CLUMP MAINTENANCE | THE LAZIEST MOST MINIMALIST NATURAL HAIR STRETCHING ROUTINE ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BViY93oBlSI.html

Thank you the fill in the blanks was a revelation. I'm transitioning from interlocked locs to allowing my locs to lock up naturally. I already know this means a significant portion of each loc will be 4c afro so it is great to see you showing us how to care for our natural hair while it is 'clumped'. Not too sure what to do with the interlocked portion of my hair but I'm sure I'll come up with a creative solution

Nibbler800 hey!!!!!! I love your comments and I’ve actually missed you too. I wanted to upload a new video on Tuesday but I had an interview to prepare for and was moving house on the upcoming Thursday. My newest video will show you an updated twist wash day routine. After that, you’ll notice a new setting since I’ll be filming at my friend’s. I’ve filmed there before so you might recognise the setting from a few years ago.

I realized how I can preserve my twist longer and I want to share it with you!!! Do you know a sauce brush that that’s made out of silicone. If you make Alevera gel (of course strain it) you have an easy application time to apply it to your scalp and down The length of my/ your hair it makes my hair less frizz. I use this method with my oils as well, I start with the roots of my hair and bring it down to my ends. Thanks for your great videos!

Venus Holistics thanks for sharing that. It sounds as though it was a good way to go - you can start over with new hair practices and (a new diet). Sorry to hear about the anemia but I imagine it was a relief to get a diagnosis. I wish you all the best with that and feeling like yourself again! 😘

I think this was the motivation I needed to do my hair today. I've been putting it off. /o\ Your clumping video inspired me to not seperate out my sections immediately after I take down my twists. The sections aren’t as dry as my loose hair would have been under the same circumstances, but I was still able to style those sections into flat twists to keep them neat. So far so good.
@NaturallyHigh
@NaturallyHigh 5 лет назад
Hiya! Happy to help - I know how that can be. Glad to hear that. Be sure to monitor your hair, especially the ends, to forestall any knotting disasters. Do let me know how it works out after you take out your flat twists!

@@NaturallyHigh they combed out really well! Being stretched in the flat twists and well moisturized kept them from tangling too much. I restyled my hair very quickly and easily. Further experimentation required. :D

@zoe0187
@zoe0187 5 лет назад
I do that kind of maintenance with my hair, similar length and texture. To be able to do that, you have to change the way you see tangle. If you want untangled hair like you just use a comb. This is not the method for you. Look at her hair, Cipriana's hair. It is never super 'kept'. Like mine. You have to make peace with the look.
@keepingitrealnaturalist5472
@keepingitrealnaturalist5472 5 лет назад
@@zoe0187 no it doesn't have to be super detangles, but my parts are always so messed up that I don't think it can work although I never actually did it with a plait at the roots.
@MissBrittneyofCourse

I remember years ago when cup was just coming to the spotlight she did a walk through of how she datangles. She says her hair is never fully detangled, because it's not necessary for her purposes. It works for her. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Hi There this is off Topic. How can I retain Length for a 5 year old if she swim twice a week which require me to wash and braid her hair constantly. Any ideas. she has a swim cap but it does not work. I do wash the hair in braids let it air dry a moisturize and seal weekly. looking for suggestions.
@NaturallyHigh
@NaturallyHigh 4 года назад
HairObsess Club hey! This is a really good question. I’m not a pro at this but I have some tips. 1) get a Swimscarf (apparently they don’t let any water get on your hair - I haven’t tried them though so please do your research) 2) wet her hair beforehand and add shea butter and/or coconut oil and/or conditioner 3) cleanse the hair with a chelating shampoo (or see if you can find a chelating conditioner) As for styles, the best one for me at the beach is: big twists (as big as possible) that can be French plaited while in the water. If they’re maintained in a tangle free state this works out quite well.
