How did you come up with the amount for the waistline. 15" is indicated but you don't say how you arrived at that figure. You did for the waist but not the waistline.

This is very clear and easy to follow along! I finished my side and waist dart bodice today. I went up half inch on the sides but I did it from the dart's midpoint to the waist. I will cut it out of fabric soon to see if that makes it fit perfectly or whether I should go up any further... thank you for posting this!

You are wonderful and honest. This is exactly illustration of how to created pattern. This way I was learning in school. This is a basic fundamental rule; I think your pattern is S or M side. Your curve ruler look like mine.

@@lydiacharamba no that 3/4 inch was for ease, i.e for the garment to have a bit of space that makes it comfortable and wearable. She probably added seam allowance while she was cutting out the fabric instead.

I tried it and it works, but manipulating the curved seam was difficult. I added 5/8 in standard seam allowance but that was a lot. I had to clip the curves before I could sew it. Now I am looking for directions for how to make sleeves. Thank you for the video.

How do u determine the measurement from shoulder line to get the bust line, so as to get the depth of the armhole? I'm a bit confused on the part..Is it half shoulder measurement that was used to determine the depth of armhole?

Hi thank you for the tutorial. I'm a bit confused about the shoulder measurement - isn't it supposed to be the distance from shoulder point to neck? Isn't 14'' too long? Apologies if it's a silly question - I'm very new to sewing. Thanks.

zencefillikurabiye it should be shoulder length divided by 2 :) so if your shoulder is 14”, you’ll get 7”

It's been a year and idk if you got your reply, but it was meant to be from shoulder seam to shoulder seam (so start at your left arm hole top/sleeve seam and measure straight across to your right arm hole/sleeve seam). When looking it up, it'd be measuring your "shoulder width" for sewing.

The ease she added is just wearing ease (so that the garment does not fit too tightly and is comfortable to wear as you move and breathe). So before cutting the pieces, make sure to add seam allowance 😊👍

nope. the only thing she added was an extra inch for as compensation for sthe pace the darts would take, and 3/4 inch for ease at the bust and waist, i.e so the garment can have a little extra space that makes it wearable instead of fitting like a second skin. she probably added seam allowance when cutting out the fabric on the pattern instead. Hope this helps!

Please why did you use the same line for armhole line and bust line. I thought the armhole should be higher than the bust. will this your method not increase the size of the armhole?

siva shivakumar because there are 6 parts to the neck. Front left, front right, side left, side right, back left, back right. Hope this helps.
