We are back again with a Sol Guide Videos used that aren't mine: • Top 10 Hype Moments - ... • Video • GG Xrd REV2 Sol Badguy... Dustloop: dustloop.com/w...
A small tip about learning the rising j.D timing from a Sol player: I personally found the easiest way to work in the right timing on the rising j.D is to actually start too early (early enough that you gatling into 5D) then slowly delay more and more until you start getting a j.D to come out, which will probably be rising at the right timing. Not the definitive method, of course, but one that worked well for me and I figure might work well for someone else! Very solid guide overall though! I think the length is good, and you spend a good amount of time on each segment and keep things both interesting and informative.
My favorite thing for strive sol is that the animators looked at the moves where he uses his sword like f.S and decided, you know what? He needs to punch more.
This is a great video! I feel like my Sol is about to get a lot better! The only thing I’d change is having the numpad notation be at the beginning of the video so that people that haven’t seen it before won’t be confused for most of the video
So glad I found this video as well as the Slayer one I'm gonna have to rewatch them a lot in case I ever get lost. I need you to do a Leo Whitefang guide for me next personally lol
EZ PZ, lol. I'm actually posting another guide, hopefully today. Got to wait for the HD to process. Sin is the upcoming character, but Leo is on the list, had a couple of people ask for him.
Thank you man. It is the exact type of guide I was looking for. One suggestion, you may try going a bit more in depth into the block strings for specifics character to better understand how to start your pressure. If that's asking for too much, making a comprehensive guide about the character(s) would be cool as well.
Hey thanks for the kind words stranger. As for the block strings, it was something I considered expanding but also realized that the video shouldn't be too long, or else people would get overwhelmed. I may make separate videos covering more detailed stuff such as this in the future. But to help you start off with Sol, you'll be doing any string into 2S as much as possible. This includes c.S -> f.S -> 2S or (5P, 5K, 2K, 2P) -> c.S -> 2S into anything you want. Dash, special moves, basically anything. Do be aware that everything you do has a counter, so makes sure you adjust accordingly to your opponent. This isn't the whole gameplan, but it should help you get started.
*Insert generic you deserve more subs comment here* Seriously these guides are seriously helping Strive players like myself break into the madness of XRD.
Great video, but I have one suggestion. If ya wanna use background music for ur video, I think it would be a good idea to turn the in-game BG off while recording and just put whatever song in the video while editing, cuz it's just a bit weird whenever u cut off to explain the next move and how the in game music also just cuts off. Just a nitpick, other then that, I love this 🙃
I'm a mid level Sol player already. I've never heard anyone's reasoning to use 6P > 6HS instead of VV after Break?. I assume it's for better oki but it's never been said in any guide or video I've personally seen. Plus I like ending my combos with VV lol
It's because 6HS is cancelled by Gun Feint, which sets up Gun Flame YRC. That situation is extremely hard for your opponent to deal with. Plus, it adds much needed mix to Sol's kind of eh mix. Also, on some characters, you can VV after the 6HS in the corner for extra damage, but you get different Oki
@@acehoudini I've played Sol ever since I started with this series (I'm a whore for poster boys) and I can agree, gunflame is my go to oki tool, because I got tired of dealing with netplay testaments and venoms in +R
@@science_man3425 Thats fair, though you won't escape Venom here lol. If you played +R Sol, Xrd Sol has similar weaknesses as he is zoned out pretty easily. I highly recommend dash breaking as I said for a first response, otherwise you may need to risk it for the brisket and do Ground Viper. And don't forget air dashing after 2S is a viable option.
Volcanic Viper is done purely for damage and a hard knockdown. Bandit revolver is used for corner carry mostly. Personally, I would say use Bandit revolver most of the time to get to the corner as you can get his gun flame mix-ups that way and that is most of his mix in general. As well you can RC the bandit revolver to extend combos more consistently than VV
The Duration of Dragon Install is about 420 frames, about 7 seconds. Goes up to 504 frames (about 8.4 seconds) when you're less than 30% health. Otherwise, not really
I know I'm 9 months late but how do you dash out of gunflame in time to follow up? Sol always misses at the last frame or the combo isnt true for me, thanks if you see this!
@@greengus9925 Ah, gotcha. So this combo is difficult to do, I'll admit. Essentially, the closer you are to the opponent the harder it is to get the air follow up. If it's on counterhit, you have basically all day. You could try doing a faster air normal to compensate, but it's mostly about the distance between you and the opponent on regular hit.
