so crazy how i used to be obsessed with your channel when i was like 9 years old, Now im 21 ! I come back to your channel and you're still doing your thing, thats awesome
Aw man, this takes me back to what must be about 7 or 8 years if not more~ Your videos are what got me into improving my art and it's crazy to see my progress... I went from barely following tutorials to having developed my style into something else entirely Thank you for helping me start my art journey, that's all i want to say
I started a drawing with a 3/4 pov and I struggled so much, I've left it for about a month or two by now, too scared to get back to it... it was honestly too difficult! Your video might save me and get me back to that drawing.. Thank you so much!!! 🌹🌹🌹
I haven’t seen a video of yours on my feed for years. Like late middle school and high school. I can confidently say I’m a great artist whose spent hours on large charcoal and graphite drawings. Unfortunately I’ve lost my desire for this talent. I hope one day I’ll get back into it. Peter draws keeps going as well.
(Kinda off topic, but since the video came up in subscription feed, I’ll drop this here) I’ve been drawing for about two years now, but what sparked that was partly some of your videos and the Brody’s Ghost books a few years back before that. Drawing is still one of the best things I’ve gotten into, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Thank you.
i used to religiously watch your videos when i was younger; when I got into high school, I quit drawing for the most part and recently started again, and watching you now when 5 years later is like a breath of fresh air!
Ahhh it's been forever since I have watched your videos Mark. But your outro is still the same "I'll be back with another one....real soon." Always hits home 🙏 never stop!!!
This was a great video. I think it would be really useful to see a similar side by side for male and female faces, showing the similarities and the differences.
Omg you are still here on YT *-* When I was about 13 years old I decided that I wanted to become an artist, and when I started to get into drawing your tutorials were like... Everything that I wanted to achieve. Watching this video made me so hard core nostalgic ;-;
Hey Mark, just want to tell you that my first drawing that I would say good is following your how to a dragon some years ago. Seeing you still doing this makes me really happy. thank you for doing this
Hey Mark I saw My Last Summer with Cass in the manga section of the bookstore! I remember being so excited for its release and watching your videos where you worked on it! Congratulations!!!!
Coming back to Mark Crilley to re-evaluate my art and get back to where "I started from" after years and years feels like coming home after a long journey.
I've been playing around with proportions myself and also drawing alot in 3/4 view so this helped me to analyze how I go about it so thank you I enjoyed this!
Was searching how to make comics when I stumbled on his video, and then I recognised his channel from when I was a kid and would search up how to draw basic things, man what a nostalgic feeling 😭 I used to learn so much from his videos, it’s crazy he still uploads videos
You're one of my favorite artists Mr Crilley. Sadly I only own Mastering Manga Vol. 1, but still that book helped a lot in becoming better. So thank you very much 🤗
Hey, Crilley, you should make a how to draw wrinkles video. Like wrinkled hands and faces. No matter how much I stare at my grandparents faces and hands, I still can't seem to translate their wrinkles to their portraits.
Hey Mark! Would you be able to show us how to draw a light effect? Say reflection from a flame or maybe a flashlight? I've been trying to get a glow effect on a portrait to sell, and I can't seem to understand it. Watched you for years now so I assumed you'd be the best teacher. Much Love, and Best Wishes: Paul.
Can you make a video on how to plan graphic novels ... because of the chart I think that you use some kind of system and I would like to know what system one can use in the process of creating a graphic novel. If you have done such a video already, I'd be happy about a link to it.
I love you Mark! I’ve been subbed to you for more than 10 years now. You’re such a wonderful person. I’m so glad to see you at 3m subs, you deserve it!
He only changed the balance of the proportions... The eyes are slightly bigger and the mouth is slightly smaller in the second one. Meaning... you can make almost anything look good as long as the proportions are balanced.
I use a good mix of realistic features and manga style. Heavy influence with Dragonball z. But my character’s face is more realistic looking. Lips are always tricky, but drawing hair is my worst enemy.
I like the one on the left better. I wish more animations leaned toward that look instead of making character look wonky and cartoonie just for because it's easier. The anime/realistic features is such a nice mix but not an easy one too learn.
