Today I want to show you how I drill my aquariums and how we did it for our new breeding rack. Please leave any questions you have below! Shop: wattleydiscus.com/shop/ - Music: Kronicle - Another Chill Day
Drilled my tank after watching a few videos on it felt comfortable, ordered a diamond hole saw from amazon to my specific detentions went outside took a water hose on the top panel and from inside with a sprinkler head to spray a wide area. Drilled it in 5 minuets. My tip is I can’t exaggerate this enough, let the drills weight do the work, you hold it straight after getting the cut started and hold the button, easy
Thank you very much.... your videos very helpful nice informations I appreciate what you do ... did u sale babies untisuck filter or where u buying from ??? .
Awesome video How do you prepare water to make fish safe and dane paramaters before using in tanks? How often do you change water in tanks and growouts? Can you explain more with the type of pump and how you select them on specifics of water needed to be circulate and how you select bulk heads? Also could u do s more indepth video of the sump build and how you utilize float valves to refill sump? How do u prevent flooding if electricity is cut off? Where do the excess water go from sump?
If the electric goes the wet dry underneath has an overflow drain which goes into our drain. Once the electric comes back the system turns on and the float replaces the water that went out.
Looks very interesting. Is the tower arrangement really better than sponges in each tank? Ganging tanks together seems like it risks biocontrol. Great video, thanks for sharing!
Muy buen video Gabe !!!! Quería saber a las parejas reproductoras cual es la frecuencia y el por ciento de cambio de agua. Gracias anticipada. Sigue haciendo videos....
Is der any risk of infection coz if any fish is infected the water will carry it to the other tanks any suggestions with this kinda situation i learn alot from you love your videos thankyou for being my inspiration ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I've searched extensively online but cannot find a small drill press like the one Gabe is using; I also can't find any of the irrigation pipe used to keep fry from going down the drain. What brand is the drill press and where can it be purchased? Where do I find the irrigation pipe shown?
This system is truly very good. It saves a lot of time in siphoning. But what do you do when ony one tank gets infected with diseased discus ? How do you cut off this diseased tank from the rest of the system ?
1.5" check valve doesn't allow water to return and whatever excess water builds up there is an 1.5" overflow bulkhead that permits the water to escape down the drain. Once power is returned the float valve underneath compensates for any water that was discharged and therefore level is always kept.
@@JackWattleyDiscus I am sorry, I did not describe my question, do you have a video of how you process water from outside your system? At some point in time I would think you would have to introduce new water from the city or a well. Thank you Great information
How do you ensure that every Tank gets enough fresh filtered Water? there is only 1 Tube with an opening over each Tank but the water flow gets less for every foot it travels so basically the first tank would get the most amount of water and the last one the least, so how do you ensure that the last tank gets enough fresh filtered water? greetings from germany btw love your vids :)
Hey gabe I'm going to build an 8ft aquarium in my house and some aquarist tell me you should not do curved glass as it's not good for discus (causes stress) and will kill them. I want to know whether it's true or not Because I want my new massive aquarium to look beautiful. Your early reply would be much appreciated. Thanks.......
Please put some light on percentage of water change requirements because lots of people made it very complected by saying change 100% water change daily :) Whether algae is good or bad for the fish.
Hey gabriel. My tank has a external filter then added uvc filter. After that i directed my hose to sump system. İ take fresh Waters to my tank from sump. İ have crystal clear Water. U have any advice to me ?
I got Questions though, so basically that is a sum water system for 78 tanks right? let's say what if one of the tanks/fish got parasites or any diseases that can spread. is it gonna spread to all 78 tanks? or you had a spesific treatment to prevent that? thank you
The tanks would become contaminated by doing water changes anyway. Unless you want to have a separate hose for each tank. The way we prevent is by doing water changes daily. There is a 75 watt UV sterilizer and we also treat weekly with Potassium Permanganate to maintain a low bacteria level.
@@JackWattleyDiscus yeah i'm still torn between seperate hose or sump. Okay, you are all doing the precaution treatment before all the bad things happen, that is make sense. Thank You for your answer. keep posting new video I need this :D
When you treat with pottassium permagnate , it kills all the bacteria in the biological media right ? What's the remedy you guys having for this problem ? Also if any infections It il spread all over the tanks na ? How you treat the sick fishes ? In one tank ? Did you remove them and isolates ? I want to know more about the sump system
The only glass aquariums I've ever seen commercially available have a pane of tempered glass for the bottom panel and you absolutely cannot drill tempered glass. Most glass aquariums I've seen have to be drilled from the back or side(s). The tanks you showed were all drilled through the bottom. Did you construct your own aquariums?
@@JackWattleyDiscus Wow. Having a bad day? The tone of your reply was a little less than professional and I don't understand why. I've made no assumptions at all. I see what look like glass tanks with drilled bottoms in your video. All commercially available glass tanks I've seen are tempered on bottom. Even the small ones. I've had quite a few and I've drilled my share as well. Not "hundreds" but I'm no novice. Can you tell me where you get your non-tempered bottom tanks? Who makes them? I'm genuinely interested because I'd much rather drill the bottom too. Do you know of other sizes that don't have tempered bottoms? Larger if possible? I appreciate any information you might have. I've even called manufacturers looking for them. I'm just asking for some info. That's all. I promise.
@@JackWattleyDiscus sir m getting ur point of not introducing any outside discus in the system but if some tank from our own farm gets hit what's the way to deal with it.secondly u have mentioned about preventive medicines .can u help me with or rather name me with what u use.preferablly with dosages
@@sanketchalke4082 absolutely. We do potassium permanganate once a week and three days later we do malachite green and formaldehyde together. This will prevent most outbreaks. Hope this helps.
@@JackWattleyDiscus actually m having a discus hatchery with 40 odd pairs. if any help required I would rather bother u and give u a shout.pls help me out .thank u
