How to dye papers with lemon juice
Hello friend,
In this video I am going to show you how I dye papers with lemon juice, either from the store packed in a bottle or freshly squished right out the fridge. This is a very easy method I learned when I was little and used to do some sending snail mail to my friends, or making treasure maps for my cousins, even now for my journals, my mixed media papers, and my art and junk journals too. so I hope you enjoy it too. Its so much fun and so easy and affordable, that Im sure you will have a lot of fun diying your own and pimping up your papers and art projects.

This really brings back memories! Never thought I'd be using that at this time in my life, but why not?! I found some very old (35 years) silk paints in my cupboard and decided to mix some of this with spices. I loved a light blue mixed with turmeric powder. It was a gorgeous colour that varied in itself and due to the ground turmeric elements had a lovely texture on the surface when dried. Did the same with ground paprika and got some lovely reddish tones. Haven't tried the green mache tea as this es very expensive in Germany, but can imagine it would also be good for dyeing fabrics (my passion), so maybe I should get some .... Thanks for your wonderful ideas!

I think you can do the same with regular milk!🙂 I know people have used milk to get designs on t-shirts!

Oh cool! I never heard of this magic :-) That would be so cool for teachers! I think the bottled juice makes the drawings end up a bit darker? But that might also be just the difference in heat and how long it was exposed to the heat maybe? But this is such a cool idea! Thank you!

@@ishitasharma3595 oohhh yes, I have learnt more from experimenting and creating every chance I got than from classes, but those help too, I love enrolling on online classes from other artist I like, like Laura Horn or Tracy Verdugo, you get other artist point of view and also get inspired and new fun Ideas come to your head, its almost like magic! 🥰

Marci love your style and the way you teach. Watched the video with lemon juice, which led me to watch your painting with coffee, do you have a tutorial on you tube on how you made your journal you painted the pears in??? Loved the look of it! Was it made with paper grocery bags?

I also made all the papers in a video called: Making different mixed media papers for collage. Both are easy to do and I hope they inspire you to create your own and not be afraid of mistakes or worry about perfection, just let yourself loose and play and experiment and feel free.
