I'm a female who, due to bone deformities, has no lower legs. My Fiancé doesn't wear dress shoes at all. I have no idea why I watch shoe restoration videos, but I enjoy them so much. I guess it's better than pimple videos!? LOL

You needed a lot of layers of acetone to remove the finishing of the shoes... that means AE have a very rich colors!! I have a few Ace marks shoes and after using Reno mat for remove the mirror shine the color of the toes were also removed just with one application!! Don’t know what kind of paint they use but is not very resistant to acetone or Reno. Mat 🤔

Think I may have messed up my order of operations. After removing the factory finish on a pair of Corcoran 1510's I treated the leather with a tung oil (I wanted maximum absorption to make them as water resistant as possible) should I acetone them again before dying to make sure the dye is fully absorbed by the leather? Or should I just proceed as is?
Hi Preston, why do you prefer the use of pure acetone and not for example Saphir Réno‘Mat for removing all the old waxes and previous polish and buff and treatments on the leather ? Is the end result the same or not, thank you
Hi, I have a pair of RM Williams hand patinated boots, they are a tan/burgundy colour with beautiful leather, the polish recommended is neutral but each time I use it the patination is removed a little, can you recommend a Saphir colour combo? I can email you a pic if you wish.
With a good polish, i like every shoe i see. Without it i don't like the exact same shoe when going shopping so shops should do some work and display good polish shoes, that would be easy attraction for customers if they invest in some hardwork.

If used within reason, it’s perfectly safe. After excessive use, the leather will break down but that requires so much acetone that no reasonable person could do it by accident.
