You're going to love this little machine! Being able to grab it and go is so much easier. WoW! Amazing! Never been a card person but since the Joy purchase I have changed! Sent 13 Mother’s Day card and hand wrote all the addresses. Now on to Father’s Day...will finish those by hand...but 4th of July - the mailman better be ready! Just wish there was a way to organize your projects in DS to keep all those addresses! Jo Ann - same here! I LOVE making cards now. As for the addresses, I agree. For now, I'm just saving each as a project. Maybe they'll come up with something soon! 💕
This is so neat! Just got my Joy and am loving it and playing.. watching all of your Joy videos! Great idea to be able to address and decorate the envelopes. I will save the project and then can always go back and just change the address of recipient.... and will save several with different images. Of course will have to get some colored pens for Christmas!

Thanks so much for this information Kim. Just a note though, recipient's address should always be left justified or block style. It's due to the way the postal machines scan the addresses for quicker processing. I have been a card maker for years, however I did purchase the Cricut Joy three month's ago and I appreciate the simplicity and to the point manner in which you've done your tutorials. I appreciate you sharing.

Im back ! lol I used a regular letter white envelope 4.15 x 9.5 and the black pen and it came out awesome! I drew on the from and on the back side on top of where the sticky part is, I placed a coupon code it for their next purchase :) that might be a video Idea for you since you have the color pens and theres a ton of people mailing out stickers and decals and to shop them is $.055 worth it when you can draw on the envelopes like this! thank you again
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for your cricut Joy tutorials. You are so informative, concise and a pleasure to watch. You have REALLY taught me about design space and writing with the joy. I am still having issues with the blade life. I mainly use the cricut box precut cards, so ??? Paper weight? card mat stickiness? I am still experimenting. I seem to make much SCRAP PAPER from my cards. Thanks again.

I just got a cricut explore air 2 and used your tutorial and had no trouble! So cool to see it design by itself :) especially the balloon that was cool lol
This is a great video! I'm making an envelope for my daughter's birthday which is tomorrow. Never let it be said I do things on time! One question: when I hit "make it", the rectangle was on the other side of the mat from yours. Any ideas why?

Thanks for the video! My question is how to stop the sticky part of the flap (that you would lick) of the envelope from getting stuck under the card mat. I tried this the other day and it nearly ripped off because that got stuck!

Hi Kim, sorry to bother you! Just thought I'd let you know I figured it out! If you go into settings in Cricut and go to Units and click "imperial" instead of metric it will fix it. The print was really small when you use metric. When you click "imperial" the print goes to the measurements of the Cricut Card Mat. Helen Collins

Hey Kathy! So glad you like the video!! 💕As for your question, when you say "save your format" do you mean save your design in Cricut Design Space? If so, the "Save" button is in the top dark gray bar (if you're using a desktop). If you meant something else just let me know and I'll do my best to help! ☺
I loved your video. It made it so much easy for a beginner like myself. I just have a question. Can you use any cricut pens or markers or does it have to be specifically for the cricut joy machine?
Hi Lourdes! So glad you like the video! 💕For the Joy machine, you need to use Joy pens. They're a bit smaller than the Explore and Maker pens. Happy crafting! 💕
Hi Kim, I want to thank you for trying to help me today. I did call Cricut Customer Service and they tried to help me out. I explained exactly what what you did and you're RU-vid page & who you were and what you were trying to do. They also could not get it to work. I don't know what it is. I tried it on my laptop, my ipad, my desktop, my daughter's Apple macbook and it still would not work. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The customer service rep @Cricut was so helpful, she said she was going to go check you out on RU-vid to see what you were doing. I'm just going to keep playing with it and maybe it will trigger something to get it to work. Hopefully something will happen! Thanks again for all your help!! Helen Collins

She actually signed in to my Cricut account (I changed my password after she was done) and she even tried to do it. Nope. I don’t know why it’s doing what it’s doing. I wish I could screen share with you what it shows what I see. It’s not giving the dimensions of the 5.75 x 4.37 in the card mat. I’m going to keep playing with it. Hopefully something will trigger it to work.

I followed your direction to the dot but when I go to make it and I select the “on card mat “ I can only use 4.5x6.25 option I tried using it with that but it cut off bit of my image which is okay for my first time! Just wondering if I did something wrong, I did check if it was on imperial under settings and it is .
Hi Cindy! What size is your envelope? And when you say a bit, just like a small edge, or 1/2 inch? Depending on the envelope, you could shift it a bit up off the sticky part of the mat to get it to center. 😊
Kim I am having some problems as I am using my iPad but I think I finally got everything right and now it won’t let me click on making it on a card mate, oh my please figure out what I am doing wrong and please let me know.
Hi Deanna! I don't use my iPad much, but I do know they have a brand new Cricut app specifically for the Joy. One reason is because the other app doesn't work well with the Joy and the machine options are different. Do you have the new app? It's in the app store. It could be as simple as getting the new one. It's FREE. 💕
@@KimByers so it doesn't have to be a cricut envelope? It can be any envelope as long as the size fits? Would I also need a mat as well? Thank you. Sorry for the weird questions, there are just so many cricuts it confuses me on which is which
Hi there! Cricut makes select Access designs free each week. If you're on their email list, you'll get an email each week. It usually varies, but sometimes you can get some drawing freebies! 😍
I don’t know whether you are using a MacBook, phone or iPad, but my screen definitely does not look anything like yours. I’ve tried to set this up on my MacBook, iPhone and iPad. Nothing works. I’m so frustrated, I’m about to return the cricut joy and all of the materials I’ve bought. So dang frustrated. 3 days of trying to address a simple envelope. Ugh.

I'm doing exactly what you're doing and it's not happening. I'm getting so frustrated. I did it once before, now it's not happening. One confused Cricut Joy user!
Oh Helen! I'm so sorry. What exactly isn't working? I can try to help. Sometimes if you've highlighted two items that are connected (look at the left panel to see) certain functions will gray out and be unavailable. Is a function hiding from you? Thanks for watching and let me know!
@@KimByers I’m working from a laptop, I don’t know if that’s the problem. It’s not recognizing the Joy Card Mat so it’s not showing the dimensions. It’s showing the regular mat even when I’m selecting the Joy Card Mat. I did at one time know how to do it but now I can’t get it to work again. Frustrated Cricut Joy. Don’t get me wrong, I love that I can do this. I wish I could send you a screen shot.
Hmmm... So you have the Joy selected as your machine (top right on CDS) and it doesn't give you the option for the Joy mat, or doesn't recognize when you feed it in? I've had a lot of success with the Cricut Help Desk. You might consider giving them a call over being frustrated. They typically answer and help really quickly. Sorry for your frustration!!!
@@KimByers Kim, I have the Card Mat selected and it’s reading the green mat dimensions. I also have the Joy selected. At one time I was able to write inside the card & make Joy envelopes.
@Helen Collins I figured you did. :) I'm not sure how I can help on this one without being there with you. I think the Cricut Help Desk can do the "share screen" thing. I hope they can help you quickly so you can get back to your envelopes!
