How To Easily Repair A Crocheted Blanket 

Thank you! I saw you do it and couldn't tell where you did it. I made my son a blanket in his favorite college football team colors for his birthday. I wove in the ends and washed the blanket. Oops, I missed an end. Wouldn't you know, it came unraveled and created a hole. As I am new to crochet, I was scrambling to find a way to fix it because his birthday is in 4 days. I'll triple check my ends from here on out. I'm glad I washed it. Had I not washed it, I wouldn't haveknownabout the end. When he washed it, it would have raveled on him. That would not have been cool. . I am learning a new skill. .I hope it's one I don't have to use too often but it's saved my bacon today. Again, thank you. Your instructions were easy to follow.

Thanks for your tutorial! I'm a quilter so I know how to mend cloth but not things made with yarn. My 2 year old son wants to use the special blanket that Dada got when he was a little boy, which him mom crocheted. We've hesitated letting him do that because it has several small holes that are guaranteed to get bigger with use. Now I can mend them while I watch TV at night and surprise him with this soon.

I have a crocheted blanket. My grandmother made in the 70s for my father. That has a large hole in it that he wants me to try to repair. I'm freaking out. I think it was done using the drunken granny square stitch, but I'm baffled on how to fix it.

I am very close to finishing my crochet blanket (currently about full size. i’m making it about a queen or king). In the beginning, I was just learning how to crochet, and was practicing on a granny square, but i decided to continue onto that piece which is now in the center of said blanket. It’s very nice, but my issue is that I used older recycled yarn in the center and the yarn i’ve used to continue the blanket is much softer and the new colors are fresher looking if that makes sense. I’ve found a few websites that explain how to repair a granny square and I understand it for the most part, but the center of my blanket that I’d like to replace is about 15 rows on each side of the square. Am I still able to fix it the same way? Is attempting to replace the center too risky?? And if it’s doable, should I double up on the yarn keeping the inner loops in place because of how big the center is (so that it’s stronger?) I could use all the help/advice I can get! I’m a perfectionist and It's wayyy too late to start over. Please help!
