Hey beauties!! As promised, here is part two: How to DIY box braids (protective style) like a pro!
In total I used about 6 packs of hair to create these braids and it took me about 6 hours from start to finish.
I absolutely LOVE how the braids came out and it makes me even happier knowing how much money I saved! Cha-Ching
These braids lasted me about 4 weeks (I could have gone much longer but I missed my curls).

Alannah Rae I think it depends on the density of your hair. Depends on how many strands of hair you have. But she had a jumbo pack. It also depends on how many braids you have to make on your head.

im only 12 years old and i told my momma i wanted to start braiding my own hair in singles, box braids, crorchet, and cornrows and in less in 3 weeks, i learned how to do them and now my friends my sister and family want me to do they hair lol but i be getting cramps in my hands and they dont understand the pain!!

Girl you're just like me lol, I started learning to braid hair when I was 11. of course I'm 22 now, but it's def a great talent to have! You should definitely do it as a little side gig make some extra spending cash.

When you took the cap off and all that long beautiful hair came down I was like, wth does she need extensions just braid your own hair. But then I realized you add the hair to maintain your natural hair. You did an excellent job. I have not braided my hair since the late 70's, yes I said 70's, I'm an old head. The world of hair and technique has evolved immensely so I've been watching videos to get a better idea of how its done these days. Lol Any way keep doing what you do, you're a beautiful young lady. Whenever I try to do my own braids the hardest part is blending my real hair with braiding hair because of the fact that my hair is so thick. And the ends of the braiding hair only look good for like a day

Katherine Arias try twisting or braiding your own hair first. That way it's already tight and together then keep it behind the hair while braiding and it'll blend perfectly.

Manu Ginobili doesn’t matter if her hair is made for it. i’ve had braids before and i’m half puerto rican/ black and half white. i have wavy hair. as long as she knows that it comes from BLACK CULTURE and doesn’t try to take credit for the hairstyle and KNOWS that it won’t “ protect “ her hair , then i really don’t see a problem with it. she can do whatever the fuck she wants with her hair.

I love this hair style. When I was younger my mom would braid my hair, I loved it, but I was teased about it and told that I was trying to be someone I wasn't. After that I barely did my hair in braids. I've always wanted to try the box braids, but I have so much to learn about them still, and have so many questions about how to take care of them.
