Try this vinegar salad on the side:
-3 heads romaine lettuce, finely chopped
-4 tbsp red wine vinegar
-1 tbsp dijon mustard
-sprinkle of salt
*Mix together vinegar, mustard and salt, pour over lettuce and mix well before enjoying!

I going to try your black bean Pattie’s tomorrow. I’ve never seen using potato flakes. I think I may add some salsa. Some times you just want to eat and simple can really do it. Tonight I was on the fence beans and pasta or beans and potatoes. I cook for just myself so I don’t want tons of leftovers (except for vegetable soup). So tonight, drained navy beans with diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and onion, one can of water and a couple handfuls of macaroni cooked it for about 15-20 minutes. It was filling and a comfort meal. Leftovers for lunch. Black beans, canned diced potatoes and diced tomatoes with peppers for another day.

Another frugal cooking channel I watch made wraps with split peas! She didnt mention a weird texture the next day but I think she heated them in a skillet so maybe that crisps them up? Hope you have a lovely NYE and thank you for another year of wonderful videos!

I made the garbanzo bean dip/spread and brought it to work for lunch - had 3 co-workers try it and immediately ask for the recipe! Just made it with cannellini beans and I like it even better - smoother texture. Either way, it’s delicious and so satisfying!

These videos are rad! We definitely need ideas like this. And when I make the budget meal, we’re always satisfied and full. The food budget is always a great place to save some money whether you don’t have a choice or if you’re trying to save for something. I gotta buckle down again in the New Year lol

Hi Miranda, Silken tofu will not be firm even though it says. It's a firm silken tofu so it is different from regular xtra firm or form. I use this silken tofu to make creamy dressings, chocolate pudding and add for smoothies at add protein.

I love the Right Rice! I cook it exactly as it says to in the directions. I was skeptical when reading the cooking instructions but decided to follow them exactly and it was great. I reheated with a little oil/water in a small fry pan.

Silken tofu uses a different process to create it, so traditional pressing will just crush it, I've seen people hang it in cheese bags to let more water escape. Can't say what sort of texture that gives it.

I love the last meal you did. I batch make rice in my instant pot (cooked in stock with diced onion - and sometimes shredded carrot or courgette), and then do the veggies and tofu in the oven like you. I also like to alternate between tofu and tempeh......and sometimes roasted chickpeas. :D Loving the content. Happy New Year.🎉🎉🙌🏻🙌🏻🎉🎉

I prefer Beyond Beef. I have to be soy free and gluten free and I think Beyond Beef is the best tasting. My husband even likes it and he is not even close to being plant based.
