as a korean I recommend eating chamoe(chamwe or korea melon) pulp with its seeds not clearing them. those seeds are the sweetest parts of this fruit. and also those seeds help your intestine work in the next morning 😀 if you have constipation

Although I'm a raw vegan of 7 years and live mostly on fruits and some raw vegetables, somehow I never tried this fruit. Today I bought six of them for $2 because the store was getting rid of them to make space for another fruit. They are ripe and smell sweet and so I thought I'd eat all six of them as one meal today. I wanted to know how to eat it. So I looked up and came across your amazing video. Thanks Matt, your video has made me salivating and secreting insulin.

First-time visitor - liked and subscribed. My wife just cut open one of these Korean melons, and we both prefer eating it without the seeds. The eating experience is like a not-yet-ripe honeydue in terms of its crunchiness, and its flavor resembles a honeydue melon as well, at least to us. We also chose not to eat it with its peel - we have become used to peeling Korean apples/pears before eating them. Thanks for this video. My wife and I are Korean Americans, but this is the first time eating a Korean melon! 🙂

Actually, the name of Korean melon is 참외. Korean melon is grown in some Northeast Asian countries. Although cultivated, the actual amount of nets is very small. Also, there is a difference in temperature and taste. Korean melons are distributed around the world every year in the summer months of June to August. Although the effects of Korean melons are diverse, they typically contain various vitamins such as constipation and anemia. Also, eating with seeds is strongly recommended!!
@inthekitchenwithmatt
@inthekitchenwithmatt 2 года назад
Yes, they are much better with the seeds as I mentioned in the video. And like I said in the video they are grown in many Asian countries. But they did originate in East Asia. And I already mentioned in the video they help against constipation. Did you actually watch the video? haha

I tried the asaki melon today. I didn't really like it. It was kind of like a watery cucumber mixed with a watery cantaloupe. I was expecting it to be sweeter. Maybe it wasn't picked when it was ripe enough. Did not really taste sweet like a honeydew. I did not eat the seeds. I will try them later. I like dragon fruit even though it's not that sweet

Hi Alicia, this isn't the Asaki melon. Korean melon and Asaki melon are two different melons. :)

PLEASE DO NOT THROW AWAY THAT SEEDS. It is edible and more sweeter than body. Me and my all Korean friends eat those together. Those seeds is used as a remidy for indigestion. Just like common watermelons, if you eat that melons with seeds too much, you might have light diareah but it's not common. Recommend to eat less than 4 a day😂

Mmm I am not sure, Leann. Here in Arizona, I found it at my local Asian Supermarket. Probably depends on where in Utah you are. I imagine there is an Asian supermarket in Salt Lake City area. Not sure if there is on in the Orem/Provo area. It has been so long since I lived there haha. I don't know if Maceys or Smiths would carry them.
