Actually the first marketed glowing color light tires were actually marketed and sold in the mid to late 1950’s think it was. They were by Goodyear and only out for a couple years cause the rubber compound was so hard to handle the heat from the lights as well as have colored transparent windows in the wall or the rubber ment that if it rained and you had those on you were as helpless as being on ice and would loose all ability to have any traction what so ever. But cool to see an old forgotten invention repurposed and most don’t realize that’s actually 70 year old technology in a way. Sure they have made some improvements in the rubber compounds and fixed many of the flaws that came with having tires that were purely astatic form over any function cause literally even on dry roads they had hardly any grip. But if you live in LA u should be all right and the city shuts down when it sprinkled like Kentucky when we get a dusting of snow. Pile ups on 65 public schools close even for a 20% chance of snow and literally people trapped in there houses and unable to leave there property with any snow sticking to the untreated country roads of death we have around here. The country roads are next level dangerous even if u know them could be strait for miles and over a steep hill suddenly have not one not two but three literal 90 deg turns cause they actually ran the roads around barns on farms and put them in the dividing lines of different properties leading to seriously 2-3 90 deg turns on small 2 lane country roads just to miss a couple barns in less than a few hundred feet then back to strait for a few miles to the have the road suddenly end in a T with a river to finish the job if you doze off or zone out. And that’s not even talking about the elevation inclines that all but make these roads completely impossible for most vehicles with out chains or being treated and even then good chance your going in several ditches before getting to where u needed to go and balls to the walk speeds of 12 maybe 15 if u got a good strait stretch with no serious ditches cliffs or rivers to go off roading down on accident. But at least the farmers are most all cool as shit and actually take there super huge and expensive tractors and there own salt or de icing treatment and throw it into a spreader on there tractor grab some super high strength strapping and a 10 ton winch with some snatch blocks and go and actually treat there own roads cause they are so dangerous and impossible for anything else including the county treatment trucks to chance they get skipped and so the farmers have said fuck it ill do it my self then and will then drive around the back road the rest of the day pulling cars out of ditches and stuck for free just to be nice and help out. I mean not much else to do really and many of them seem like they would go fight the Russians for Ukraine vs spend a entire day locked inside the house alone with there wife and u can see cartoon silhouette holes in there walls from them saying nope got to go ummmmm treat the death road so make the coffee to go in a thermos. Complete with cartoon smoke left behind and everything.
