Wonderfully done you two. Jonathan I was wondering what happened to your relationship. Thank you for taking the step of opening up, sharing and discussing many good topics here. This is ground breaking information and discussion that you have addressed. People need to learn it is ok and that they should be more civil and giving toward the one they so called loved in a break up, instead of throwing their "no longer wanted partner" to the curb like an old broken piece of furniture. May we all teach and live what you have discussed here.❤

This women is lovely, her demeanor, knowledge and kindness is engaging. She had alot of good advice but there was one that I thought was so important: Distinguish what your CORE needs are because, yes, if the other person can at least fill those the other issues will not seem so bad. This was important for me anyway because being somewhat emotionally ,verbally abused by a parent , father has lead me to identify my core needs in a relationship. Sometimes abuse in childhood does not completely get healed all up, it can still show up and making a partner aware of what triggers those injuries is important. And she is right , usually our core needs will have something to do with our injuries in childhood. Very good video Johathon, excellent guest this evening.

I agree. I watched a few videos of Jonathon and Marie because I am a new follower (they looked good together) but seemed almost uncomfortable with each other honestly and sometimes threw each other under the under the bus (maybe unconsciously) - sort of like siblings do. It reminded me an ex I had as well - we actually end our relationship healthy and are still friends.

I love this! I too went through divorce recently... We were married for 23 years but together for 30.. We have 3 wonderful boys together.. After the mess of it all.. Also I am not from a divorced family so it was very hard for me and wanting to sit down and do a meditation not attorneys involved but he chose the rough way sadly.. I decided I have to come to terms with what is and make my boys first priority .. I needed them to know that just because their dad and I are not together we can co-parent respectively.. We do get together for some holiday celebrations .. Its good knowing we can sit down and have basic conversations yet we still have not had conversations about him walking out . Maybe one day we will . Thank you for all you do .. I look forward to your videos daily.. Now Im in self reflection mode and wanting to work on myself before dating.. We can all do some work on ourselves. I will definitely look for these books ..❤

That hits hard. I just bought that book. I feel like a relationship is a couch and it’s easy to move a couch with two people but so hard when you feel you are the only one “moving” the couch. I feel like dragging this “couch” around is damaging it. So I’m doing a lot of work on hopefully our relationship but mostly myself for incase there is no real commonality for the relationship ongoing. Thanks for the video and the book

The most significant difference between dating in your 20s/30s and older ages is that getting married or having a child is no longer the first priority; in fact, it is probably the last priority for many mid-life daters. For me, I want to find a good life partner who would love to travel or engage in outdoor activities (hiking, road trips, etc.) together. There is a guy likes me and wants to become exclusive with, but since we have gone out as friends many times, I know he doesn’t have the money nor time to go on trips. This makes me think we are not compatible. I would rather find someone who can. I know many guys travel around, but I just need to find one who sees me the same way

This is the best relationship channel ever ❤!! I loved this too, extremely interesting viewpoints. I have to admit I was left still feeling a bit overwhelmed or confused by all the information, because what Kathryn was saying seemed quite complex. I’ll get the books and see if it will help me get clear on it all. I also don’t fully agree with taking 💯 ownership or fault, because when you’re in abusive relationships, you sometimes have no idea you’re actually being abused, or that the person is a narcissist or whatever. You’re a victim and it’s quite dangerous to place blame on survivors of abuse for example. Would you say this to a child? No you wouldn’t and some of us have childhood wounds we didn’t know we had. It’s only when we go to therapy we recognise that we do. A more helpful narrative may be to congratulate yourself for RECOGNISING or freeing yourself from that and know that although the abuse was traumatising, you can now move on with this knowledge and wisdom to never do this to yourself again Xx

I do really relate to the challenge of having a 'mission' and recognizing when another person might pull me off of that because they don't align or aren't in the same place or share that kind of intention. Arrrggghhh - this is what has me wonder with such a high purpose or commitment to assisting Humanity if I will ever find a true deep partner. WHERE are the men with deep purpose and who can mutually be supportive! And yes yes yes on allowing MY needs to matter instead of questioning if it is okay to ask for them. Thank you Katherine - I am done downplaying my deep needs. I need what I need and it is OKAY and necessary! I also have to say, when I do express needs or set a boundary and the person doesn't respect it, I have had to accept being pushed back upon and be seen as not fun or whatever because I am being the adult. It is so frustrating but I have learned I just have to walk away with grace.

I can't totally agree with Katherine - our brains are being rewired now as we Awaken and raise consciousness - so yes we have to do the work, but we can indeed move beyond our past, we are healing our ancestral legacies and able to rewire at the level of our DNA. I do believe too that this means how we define relationship has changed and is changing. Makes this dating process even more challenging.

43:46 When did we become a couple? When did we break up? My cousin and I had to start seeing me with another man for him to get angry at me and for me to be interested in him. Now, I'm sitting back in my feminine and maybe he'll tell me if he's is still interested in me. I don't want to be an avoidant, but as an anxious I was making him feel bad. He actually felt that I had more time than I do! He felt bad for not having time to do anything with me! So, I wasn't appreciating that he wanted to use time and money to actually be completely free to be with me and take it slow. Instead of ghosting him, I want to be in a secure place for my busy bee. Prudently, giving him time to declare his true intentions with me or simply for him to show it.

@@cc-jn4kk I agree somewhat as therapy isn't always the answer, but it does help some people - it did for me. I found a great therapist after having some terrible experiences and I do think it does helps with self-awareness - you chose select partners based on one of your parents. My ex went to one therapy session and stormed out because she was able to figure out his issues right away. My ex is still a self-absorbed narcissist and married a people pleasing doormat to cater to his ego. Some people don't want to deal with their issues and live an unconscious life.

You know what they say the rapist. You have shop around for therapists and or doctors. Not everybody is a good or even knowledgeable person. My mother who graduated first in her RN class got ulcers from watching what she called a brilliant doctor in the scientific arena having the worst bedside manner. She had to quit and they were dealing with cutting edge stuff with transplants and it was exciting. She saw many families suffer losses of young adult family members due to rejection of organs and said these families suffered terribly. She then turned to endocrinology and really enjoyed it but had to have a spiritual awakening to find her true calling and that was in hospice dealing specifically with Alzheimer’s patients and their families and it’s gut wrenching what these families go through and hospice involves the entire family ( not just the patients). My mother learned how valuable her skills were and had a passionate calling after experiencing what horrible bedside manner looks like. So you can make a difference in this world one person at a time. Very simple really and can follow your heart as you do it.

Also some people treat therapy like it’s a recreational activity and the “ in” thing to do. I agree that many folks just vomit out their problems without really engaging in the real work that it takes to improve one’s self. For me it’s what matters most to God that directs me and it still takes willingness on my part. The truth isn’t always pretty. We all have strengths and weaknesses and sometimes you can even use the skill in your strong areas to work on your weaker areas. Balance is also important and can usually be achieved with prioritizing what is important.Nobody is on their death bed wanting just a few more days to work or play. They want any extra time they get to be around the people that matter the most to them. So relationships are the stuff of life and with people having busy lives it can feel lonely for those who are single or even people who are not in a close connected relationship but may even be married.
