The advice with holding the diagonal input for EWGF is great, I noticed that a bit ago during an input viewer stream and my EWGF's went from like a 10% success rate to about 80%. Also for crouch dash cancelling, he kinda touched on this but from what I understand the biggest thing is to make sure that you both flick and release the C stick while the left stick is being held, i.e. (Hold Left Stick) > (Hold C Stick) > (Release C Stick) > (Release Left Stick) all in quick succession. Helps to practice the motion at a slower pace and gradually build up how fast you do it.
@@ashervanmaanen3353 You're pushing left or right on the left stick (towards your opponent), and down on the c-stick. Expect to get some down tilts by mistake as you work out the timing. If you're asking about smash vs. tilt stick, I believe you need it set to tilt stick, I wasn't able to get it to work with smash stick.
I migrated from tekken kazuya and adapted to the smash kazuya. After getting used to the GC controller was able to execute moderately in smash after like 1 week of playing. They did a very good job at bringing their iteration of kaz in the game.
As a Kaz main myself, he gave the greatest simple explanation I have probably ever seen aside from Parz! Def take notes if you take interest in Kazuya y’all!
You did a phenomenal job, I couldn’t have said it better myself. Great hand visuals, great communication, thoroughly explained each input to a T. By far the most helpful EWGF and Crouch Dash guide. Really love how you emphasized holding the input on electric as you press A, that’s a game changer. Great job Riddles! 🙏👊🏼⚡️🏆
1:54 I just figured out why kazuya does that. So basically everyone else that does the crouch dash input without having crouch dash does a dash walk. It’s more of a precise input so flicking the c stick is the preferred way. Since kazuya has the crouch dash input, him doing the dash walk with the c stick will result in a crouch dash because the game recognizes the c stick flick as doing the input with the analog stick. Just thought I should share that because I just found it out while in training mode. (Also I’m not the best at explaining things, so sorry if it’s hard to understand at first lol)
The exact input for tilt stick crouch dash is: Forward, Forward+Down on Tilt-Stick, then Forward, then go to neutral if you want to immediately repeat that. Essentially, hold forward, but tap down (By hold, that just means any length of time 3 frames or longer)
This works because the game recognises, Forward, Down, Forward as crouch dash too, rather than strictly being Forward, Down, Down-Forward. Since down on the Tilt-Stick is a macro, the game reads a down input from it.
I knew about the dashwalking technique for wavedash, but i never could get it consistent but now that i know you have to hold and release the c stick during the left stick input, ill probably use that instead, because my movement was always garbage so thanks for uploading this. Very helpful
Wow every tutorial made that input seem hard but that 32 seconds was more helpful than anything else 💀 thank you so much ( I main ryu, ken and bayo and thought something was wrong with me lmao)
Basically, since the regular crouch dash method is slower to perform, he's more likely to play the full dash out, which basically is crouched the entire time AND has upper body intangibility almost the entire time.
That was great tutorial video, I've been practicing the CDC for Kazuya and have that down for the most part. I still need to work on my electric. I have had success with the C-Stick input for Electric: Side input the hold Diagonal forward flick the stick at the same time thrn return it to neutral at the same time you press A brings the electric out. But it is a bit awkward to bring out while moving I just need to work on my og input XD
See, this is what Sakurai intended to balance Kazuya. You basically have to spend months giving yourself bruises on your fingers and getting carpal tunnel to be able to do the things Riddles and Tea do seemingly effortlessly in a fucking tournament setting. It's why Kazuya isn't a pick up and play character like a Luigi, a wolf, a Steve or a ROB.
I picked up Terry because of how godly you play with him. I tried Kazuya and I was wash, so this is pretty nice to know. Thanks from a fellow Torontonian.
Im gonna like this because i just got smash a few days ago and i already know your kazuya greatness, and i also know people have apparently been asking for this for a long time, and my hands are dead from trying this, and that tip to hold the diagonal input at the end apparently went over everyone elses' head who made one of these vids
Hi Riddles, HOW and WHY do you input the turn back Ferb's tech with no dash 💨 animation ? I think I saw you hitting diagonal but I'm not sure 😊 Thanks 🙏
Thanks to this video I learn how to do EWGF. I feel like I’m rotating the left stick a full circle to make it happen lol. Also it’s Easier for me when I’m crouching then input the EWGF.
You can also input down- down forward- back down- down forward + attack and you will do ewgf, its the same for all dragon punch inputs... also the street fighter 4 negative edge mechanic is still in the game from Smash 4 so you could hold the attack button do any manual input let go of the attack button and he will do said manual input... which means you can do electric win godfist three different ways
Neat. I guess I kinda learned how to do EWGF the Tekken way after playing Tekken for about a couple of weeks. ➡️🔹️⬇️↘️+A (the 🔹️being the stick returning to neutral.)
It's one of Kazuya's very niche moves since he already has overlapping and incredibly good ones (EWGF), crouching bd tilt can really only set up for a pretty good tech chase situation, they usually land about one or two forward dashes away, but it all depends on percent.
I belive the crouch dashing with the c-stick cuts off some of the invincibility Kazuya gets from the crouch dash because the c-stick is mapped for a direction and A, so there could possibly be an attack that's canceling the invincibility early. I don't know if that's true, just a theory
I'm pretty sure it's just because the c-stick method is way faster. Invincibility starts on frame 3 (given it's done perfectly in 3 frames), and upper body invincibility and low profileness lasts throughout the majority of the crouch dash. Because he does it so fast with the c-stick input, he's getting less invincibility and more of the first 2 frames that are uninvincible and standing up, by literally performing it slower, he gets more invincibility on average.
Everytime I try to wavedash i always end up doing wind god fist on the second crouch dash. Can someone tell me why I really need help with this movement its apparently easy after practice but i still cant seem to do it. Though I do have the Ferps tech and ewgf down pretty well (except when im facing the left that shit kills me)
This happens because you have to cancel your first wavedash with a Forward input. I believe you are hitting tilt-stick down maybe a hair too early, and are thus hitting it DURING the first wavedash state, in which the game recognises it as an A button. Wavedash state plus A equals WInd God Fist.
