We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version ru-vid.comUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.
I think the title of the video should be changed because it says it’s for lost codes. However, the video helped me since the sticker with the original codes was still on the lock. My problem was that, I think at some point, I must have changed the programming code, therefore I was unable to change or add lock codes. I couldn’t figure out why the lock was not recognizing the factory programming code. Duh! I must have changed it. Back to factory reset it is!
I have done this repeatedly and when I put battery back in and put in 4 digit code that works but then when I try to put programming code in it turns red after 4 numbers and that’s as far as I can go
i think "factory reset" means you then have removed a personalized programing code (if you had changed it) and to also reenter all 4 digit codes. This was helpful for me when i can fail at removing codes and forgotten a few, and run out of the 19 digit code options. it allowed me to be able to add needed codes.
Am I listening wrong? (1) remove battery (2)press Schlage button (3)reconnect battery (flashes and beeps) (4) within 10 seconds, press and hold schlage button until it beeps and light flashes again
The only thing I don't see in your comment is between step two and step three be sure to let go of the schlage button before you reconnect the battery.
Unfortunately I do not know of a way to help without obtaining the factory codes. this is the design of the schlage lock it comes with factory codes which can be changed at any time and if the codes that if been changed have been lost or forgotten there's always a way to factory reset it to the original codes but I don't know of any other way to wipe the whole device or anything like that. You may check with allegian who is now the owner of schlage they may have a tech line.
