plus to you would be surprised by the number of people that use the lean back thing there are a lot of people that do this so this would be super effective plus a push kick to the lower half area would also be great because they have there weight back so they would fall over easy .

As a tall guy I approve this message. I am very good at hitting while leaning back (I think of it like a fade away jump shot) and even an “arm punch” hurts like hell on the nose. I’m a big fan of the high low attacks

Tall as well. My first sparring session in mma, I was doing the "lean back" as well a bit, until my partner who was MUCH more experienced than me, stepped on my lead foot and left all his weight on there to trap me in place. Suddenly I couldn't move backwards, and leaning back made me off balanced. It hasn't happened since, as I'm aware of his tactic now. But still. There's a lot of ways to stop a tall guy, in a street fight, from leaning back and playing the jab / cross game, from simplistic what my sparring partner did to me, to much brutal knee attacks like in the video.

@@complexblackness you better pray your opponent doesn’t want to take you down. if i see a lean back as someone with 5 years of wrestling experience prior to starting mma Im going right for the double leg and running straight through them. You have terrible balance while leaning back so you never want to stay in that position for a long period of time

I got a severely comminuted bicondylar intra articular of the tibial plateau and displaced fibula fracture from a kick to the knee/shin area. @@shanebodnar9861 as mentioned in the video, taller guys will often lean back as their opponent strikes at them in efforts to evade, slip and then possibly counter. A fight is dynamic and so of course the tall guy isn’t likely to stay in a leaned back position, just as strikes are coming. It is good advice , as mentioned, if a tall guy is leaning back during your strikes, to close the distance and strike to the body or completely close the distance and shoot for a takedown.

Fantastic. I used to do this in sparring and competitions in full contact kickboxing in the Wales team. I first saw it applied in the 70's where Bruce Lee uses it on Chuck Norris in the film "Way of the Dragon." Great film by the way. Your opponent lifts his right knee for a turning kick off his back leg, then counteract it with my leading left leg by placing firm the sole of my left foot onto his right knee. Tap my left foot onto the floor and bounce it back up hard, turn my hip to slam my left shin into his right ribs. The same off my back right leg as an orthodox fighter, if he was orthodox to I'd reverse the process and do it off his leading left leg. Then slam a massive contact kick off the back right leg to the left side of his head, as my second kick after the right turning kick to his left rib's off my back leg. I couldn't do it now at age 49 I'd give myself a bloody hernia, lol. I can do a good turning kick off my right arm though cos I can't cock my right leg up, lol. I can't throw a mean punch anymore, but I can throw a mean face ha😂😂😂😂lol. I certainly couldn't do it on the street with a Donner kebab in my hands, lol. I'd be like 'hang on a minute mate let me just put my Blackbelt around my waist, and put my Gi on. Oh that's awfully sweet of you being patient with me." Lol. Bit more tricky if your opponent is a southpaw. You really have to reverse the process. But it's possible. If I got in the kickboxing ring with a southpaw, I'd jump out of the ring, out the door, and sprinting up the road screaming for my life, heh 😂😂😂😂 southpaw's are a nightmare, lol. Thanks dude. Great video.

Taller opponents always means that you need to chop the tree. Calf kicks have ended more than one MMA fight. Metatarsal stomps on the top of the foot and knee shots may not look glamorous, but if your opponent is larger and you need to defend yourself, you need to do what you need to do.

2:06 Ok, #FightBoss, here's an idea 🧐: You have a lot of videos on escaping techniques. It could be useful, for a lot of people, to do a video or (even better) a series on escaping situations. Show people what to look for in an environment, should an escape be necessary, and how to initiate escapes at various levels of threat. I have a short list of elements that I look for, when considering how I might escape a situation and what could aid me in doing so. If that's not your area of expertise, that might be a good opportunity for a guest / cross-channel cooperation.

Do a nice kick with a twist, and strike with just the heel, for extra bonus points (and possibly an excessive assault charge for breaking their kneecap!) 🤣 In all seriousness though, I like to aim for the cutaneous femoral nerve with a hard switch kick to the center/middle of the thigh as well. Though a quick pop to the knee or a stamp on the upper/center section of the foot works great too to bring their torso back in range. 👍 Great advice here Doc!

If you can't run, perhaps rush them with your hands out to their face. Push them over. The body is a lever. Dogs fight by rushing in with mouth wide open. I think there's a lot of BS in martial arts. People who do them may be looking for a chance to use them. That can bring trouble to you. Kicking may throw you off balance. "Taking the fight to them." Wrong wrong wrong. Their eyes should be the first target. Even if you don't make contact, their reflex is to pull back.

this is how you get counter punched so easily stepping forwards with head still on the centre line, chin up and with a floppy open guard = KO if they move back and then spring forwards with a right punch (one of the most basic counter punches for boxing) then you walk straight into their right hand and go to sleep, maybe die learn how to throw a Thai inside low kick (head moves of the centre line where its protected) and you will be able to take out the leg without the risk even a karate side kick to the knee will be better than this because you have a closed stance and so your left shoulder protects you from their power hand so many actually good options you could be doing rather than this
