Fileting a salmon on the beach saves hauling a lot of weight and reduces cleanup mess at home. You can do it with an 8" knife and $1 IKEA bag. IKEA bags are $1 and can be used to organize the car, keep wet boots & waders, haul your gear & rod to the beach, move your gear up & down beach with the tides, and finally haul your filets and rod back to the car.
